Whats all this about BTB practice? I seem to be out of the loop these days (don't read the forums!).

I'll be on most of the evening if my connection holds up, and yes I am up fr BTB praccy. How did the game go last night? I sent you messages afterwards but you never invited me back in ya buggers!

Alan, the deal is basically we are too often becoming disorganised in BTB, this is an attempt to get a bit more structure about things. Its all a bit of an experiment at the minute, but we will see how it goes...

Yeah good stuff. Was quite funny when I tapped you with the warthog and you shat it and blew me up with a rocket! :lol:

Big Team Battle stuff went pretty well though when you are up against a team who's owning all the weapons and stuff then there's only so much you can do. Would be good to give everyone a shot at commanding, its quite fun!

I wanna do some BTB but no-one in EVT has an upload better than a fart in the wind. Do you always have 8 players online or can you find room for a friendly rival?

Remember to keep your friends close, but your enemies even closer :P

Funny you should ask, 99% of the time we have the dreaded 7......and you can tell why the random we always get doesn't have a clan of their own. :lol: To avoid confusion, by that i mean they're almost always an arsehole, not shite. If you're online next time i'll invite you in or i'm sure someone will.

Are you sure you want to get into big team battle though?

Coag neutral bomb - coag multi flag - coag wraiths - oh god someone please kill me - coag single flag......

Saying that, you get the odd gem. Coag slayer is a classic. :lol:

Finally we had some of those TaCtIcS I've been hearing about. Looked promissing. Anyone up for some more BTB on friday? I can stay a bit longer on fridays. I'll think I'll be on tonight too but again I'm leaving "early".

I was really impressed with the way we played that Team Slayer on Colossus (I think it was the first of the BTB's last night). Coag went rather well, at least we had a plan this time and we didn't get owned as usual. If it wasn't for that lvl 16 sniper in that hard to reach spot we could have had them. Amazing how he was sniping all the way across the map and still making one shit kills.

YEah, I think it went well last night. We had our shit sorted on team skirmish before, but I think this is what we needed to drag our BTB skills and organisation up to scratch.

As Alan says, everyone should have a shot at the commander role, its there for anyone who fancies their hand at it. We can swap around as much as we like on the night.

So, same time same place next week guys! (or do we want to change the night for next week? early opinions please so we can get organised early).

Of course, if we happen to be doing BTB on any other nights in between we should definitely try and implement what we were doing last night.

Thebigboss and Mr Benn, we will keep an eye open for you next when we are doing BTB and need a slot filled. Last night we were mainly around 6 - 7 player mark, so we could of slotted one of you in (oo er!). Just as long as you dont mind falling into rank soldiers! Our strict plans have no room for rampaging loose cannons :lol:

I felt really bad about that as you were off comms so I couldnt really apologise. I just seen the hog in my peripheral vision as I was in the rock garden, then I heard it directly behind me, receiving a little shunt which took off about half my shields, quick about turn, unleash the rockert of fury and I take you, me, and our hog out!

Yeah, I really enjoyed those BTBs last night. I think the commander idea worked out even better than expected, especially in multi flag, where you really need some kind of plan.

Although the opposition could possibly have been a lot weaker, I think Alan's brilliant strategies and clear, rapid orders helped immensely. I always knew what I should be doing, confident that it was part of some bigger strategy. Ace!

Yeah, Alan did great. Those games went like clockwork.

I myself couldn't resist joining the battle when I saw teammates in trouble or when a lone hog spawned with noone to drive it and an attack underway.

I think we can safely say the experiment worked, even when we drew it was more coordinated than usual.

We might organise some sniper games on coag where we can be live game to be shot by our aspiring snipers (Pob and REAL I think).

I didnt know REAL fancied himself as a sniper?

To be honest, I think everyone has a aspiring sniper lurking inside them, I know I quite like to pick it up every now and then.

But yeah, the mooted duck shoot should take part. But I also enjoy the sniper only games on headlong etc.

I am thinking of trying to get a one a week custom night organised as well were we have a brek from matchmaking and just play for fun amongst ourselves, or tailor games targetting weaknesses or areas for practice.

I'm not really aspiring to be a sniper it's just that Atarian and I used to make a really good attacking team when we were doing CS where I was sniping and he took out the close range enemies. But sniping with a mouse is completely different from sniping with a gamepad.

Also it's nearly impossible to be a good sniper against a bunch of americans since the difference in lag and loss is really noticable.

Plus I'm really bad at staying put, and that's what a sniper needs to do on Halo 2 with these huge maps.

So no, I'm not really aspiring to be a sniper.

And most of all I had loads of fun being in the gunner on the hog last night B) So I guess I aspire the gunner position and part-time flagstealer/bombplanter. I think I do alright on the kamikaze actions to get the flag out of the base or sneak in to plant the bomb.

You might enjoy being the gunner, but who has to clean out all the casings from the back huh? Nonetheless, we need some backup snipers. I'm shit with it and don't enjoy it so that's me out <_<.

A turkey shoot is more usefull than the sniper battles for training imo, since the last ones are more about sneaking up on and shooting other hidden snipers, while in most games your opponents will be moving around.

Maybe Hitch can be our sniper whore along with Pob? Lowering sensitivity might help since my main problem is that I usually overshoot my target. I think I'll take it down a notch to see what hapens.

I was thinking that on Team Slayer we need a couple of guys with charged plasma pistols. We stuck together really well yesterday but a good mix of weapons could help to beat down those attacks faster.

That's the exact problem I was having with my sniping until I went down to 4.

I was thinking that on Team Slayer we need a couple of guys with charged plasma pistols. We stuck together really well yesterday but a good mix of weapons could help to beat down those attacks faster.

I was surprised how effective a charged PP and SMG is against other dual combos in last nights slayer games..
