Xbox Live Ban

Can anyone tell me what happens when you get banned from XBox Live? I've just joined up for the first time, and I can't connect to XBox live, but I don't know if this is because I'm banned or if its a connection problem...

The possibility only presents itself if your xbox is modified in any way, shape or form. Hell, maybe it's not been banned and you're just having connection problems but given MS' recent clampdown, the last thing you should be doing is taking a modded xbox onto live.

I'm cool about getting a new XBox to play on live, but I just want to know if I have a connection problem, or if I've been banned. Can anyone tell me what you see when you're banned - are you just simply unable to connect?

And if you get banned, can you use the same live account on a clean XBox, or you do you have to sign up again with new details?

If you are banned you will get a message saying you are banned from xbox live because modified software or hardware have been detected. If you just can't connect there's probably another problem.

Your xbox gets banned, not your gtag. So if you buy a clean box you will be able to recover your account and play with no problems.

What error message are you getting?

Wehn I was banned the night before I was having problems connectting, wasnt till the next day I was getting the YOU ARE BANNED message.

But yeah, save your LIVE details onto a memory card and put them on a clean x box and you are back up and running.
