grabbing through the floor on coag is nasty is my opinion, means you have to defend both bottom and top.g

Its pretty easy to defend against though, as they need something under the flag to stand on, mainly a Warthog, as the Banshee will have been taken. Hard to miss a Warthog coming into the underneath of your base really

If you knew you were going to do that then yes but if you're waiting for them by the flag then they've got a big head start on you.

I always grab the banshee on our team, so thats rarely in the basement, unless its respawned, and as a result they'll need a Warthog to try and get the flag through the floor. And it isnt exactly hard to spot a Warthog trying to park under your base.

Cue loads of people shooting and grenading the shit out of the Warthog, which usually also equals 2-3 dead enemies. Its also easier to defend the flag downstairs if its been pulled through, as the enemy doesnt have a supply of grenades that are on the roof handy, and theres less of a chance of getting rocketed from above.

No, but if a warthog parks under your base on a four on 4 it seems likely that you'll stay up top and defend the flag? If people weren't going to exploit glitches then you'd have no reason to take the fight to them.

I see what you mean, but EVT have to do this in matchmaking as not everyone is as sportsmanlike unfortunately.

Ok, it would seem the flavour of the forum is we are all against this.

Personally I am glad.

Please people do not try and be smart on this and try and get away with it, it will all end in tears.

Im sure you can all be trusted.

If people want to raise or query any problems in enforcing this, or any grey areas they think may exist, please let them be known.

Ok, so flags through walls are a definite no-no. What about weapons? Beaver creek's SMG and Plasma Pistol through the back wall while inside the base being the main

(are there any other places where this can be done?) ones. I'll assume its not ok untill I hear otherwise.

The worst for flaggrabbing through walls is Beaver Creek. It's basically undefendable.

ctf beaver creek isn't on the skirmish list, however neutral bomb is (and is to be played this week), and you can pull the bomb through the wall too.

this is a glitch that isn't going to be fixed (apparently), and as long as you're aware of it, you can take measures against it. if the flag is against a wall, your opponent will (in matchmaking) almost always try to pull it through. i generally will too, however i will not deliberately set up to do this. i.e. i won't deliberately (or get my team to) throw the flag into a position to grab it through the wall.

many people have tactics that set out to exploit the glitch, and as evil an arsehole as i may be, i won't go that far.

Don't do it for everything like that seems fair enough to me.

But I think people would have great difficulty proving someone did that.

I think I have been mis-understood. I don't like the flag throught the floor tricks on coag/ivory tower i'm talking about it pssing through walls, a good example would be if the flag is stuck in one of the two doorways on Zanzibar, whats wrong with that?

because people will be waiting inside with a shotgun, in a sensible place. Taking it from through the walls would then bollocks them and waiting outside for you to steal it would leave them open to fire.

The window on Waterworks?

The thing is, there is clearly a difference between trying to throw the flag down the drain in Ivory Tower - which requires an actual tactic based around a glitch - and running towards the arrow on your screen amidst loads of carnage and holding X - in some levels you could easily pull it through the wall. without realising or meaning to.

If I'm defending say the Zanzibar stairs, theres no way im having 4 people base camping, yes maybe one inside with a shotgun, but its not like you have to sit on the flag to defend it is it? Same as you don't have to stand right outside like a supermarket security guard.

Someone mentioned the bomb through wall trick on beaver creek - now that does provide a massive advantage, but again, it takes tactics to set up, and actively trying to cheat is wrong.

What about pulling the ball through the floor in Lockout? Grabbing the sniper rifle from underneath?

I'm all for a clean match, and for all of this I don't think I have ever grabbed anything through a wall - bar the weapons near the warp in Beaver Creek- we simply need to establish a level playing field and ensure that one team doesn't end up getting accused of cheating by another because the rules aren't clear.

Finally - we do have Slayer games in the playlist right? You are using the Minor Clan playlist and not the Team Skirmish ones? They used to be the same until Team Slayer was added.

I don't know how this is going to be enforced. I don't know anywhere to grab weapons/flags through walls, and I don't really care.

Can't we have some kind of gentleman's agreement not to grab stuff through walls?

I used team skirmish as the link provided by breaksmith, but have since noticed the ommission.

If everyone is happy for the next set of fixtures we will move onto the minor clan match list with Slayer included.

I think its best to stick to what was generated for this week, unless there is a mass of people would wish it to be done again from the minor clan list for this week as well?

Sorry for the confusion.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd quite like to see some slayer included on there this week.

It was an easy mistake to make - because like I said, they used to be the same list, but have changed since the update.

I doubt anyone has fully practised all 10 gametypes yet. I wouldn't mind a change, but no great shakes either way.
