They are the same I believe.

I've come around to the 'random gametype' idea. That way, the winner of the tournament should be the most well rounded-team. Also, it will then follow Bungie's excellent macthmaking template, which is perfect aside from cheaters and Americans, neither of which we have on rllmuk.

I think the n00bs best weapon is their name, Im not entirely sure they really are all that "n00by", although I believe a lot of their talent has been poached by sacred remains.

But yeah, its all go, get arranging the matches for next week B)

We played their best talent in a slayer clan match a while ago. We beat them, but we underestimated their ability, allowing them to get a lead on us. We quickly cast aside all notions of them being n00by, and then kicked their arse, so to speak. I think most of them got recruited by Sacred Remains as a result, though I could be wrong.

Basically, dont underestimate anyone Kerraig, even if they have n00bs/nubes in their clan name :)

so what's happening about game types? if you're going to go along with my suggestion (drawn at random for each round), then can we get the draw done? i g uess it would be good if the draw was done on the monday the week before. anyway, you're doing a good job, so keep it up ...

Also, some more 'rules' might be worthwhile. i.e. if it's one capture all on Zanzibar, it's counted as a draw despite what Bungie's stats say.

Also, what was decided for mid-game subs? Will it be allowed? Is there a time limit to get a replacement in?

And if someone buggers up the gametype, the game should be null and void, and you play again with proper rules.

Also, clarification of what 'cheats' are allowed. Grabbing flags through walls seems to be fair game now, but obviously all that teleporting nonsene is banned (and will make the offending team default the game).

Im on it. Rules shall follow shortly.

There are some already posted, lost within this thread somewhere.

Im still undecided on subs. I am leaning towards allowing one if he can come on within a specified time and the opposing team are happy there is a legitimate reason for doing so.

As ever I am open to everyones suggestions on this, we have a few days to get them all in place with enough time for people to familiarise themselves with them.

I think the grabbing through walls and floors shouldn't be allowed either. It's not that hard to have some straightforward outlawing of exploits, basically allow physics but disallow glitching. Anything the flag can't pass if thrown is off limits to grab through. (ie, the closed gate is allowed but not the solid wall). Bouncing the flag is allowed, dummying and variants isn't etc etc.

Dude you can't say bouncing the flag is allowed but grabbing through the walls isn't. Apart from taking in through the floor on Ivory Tower, I haven't known taking a flag through a wall to be a problem.

Also: No zoom/scope swording.

Maybe I misunderstand bouncing, I thought it meant bouncing it off another object, which seems perfectly ok in the physics context of the game. Grabbing through walls isn't, since you can't throw the flag through a wall. I think this is a simple and usable definition. I agree on the scope lunging.
