ok so he's picking them up on Sunday. Looks pretty kosher, but way overpriced

What's the reasonably price then? I can't find anythin on VG+ or Play-asia.

EDIT - Just read your response in full. Bit of a ball-acher that, pre-ordering and not knowing the price though.

Well since the RRP is about £120... I'd say about £120 is reasonable. He is including a game for that so maybe 150-160. 200 if it's the pack with spare stuff etc.

He's still trying to make over a ton on each and I BET he doesn't get all 10.

did you watch the vid, they say that news is from developers.

Doesn't matter where their info is from, it's wrong. There's lots of other people saying the opposite, too, including real developers who actually make games for the system.

ok so the bloke replied to me

Hello,

No, you cannot have a power supply feeding both 110v and 240v mains.

This is why you should use the stepdown to conver the 240v supply UK

to the 110v supplied from the origin country.

This way you can use the system safely and are also able to recharge the battery pak.

Thanks

lympic2003

So I was compelled to reply

"No, you cannot have a power supply feeding both 110v and 240v mains."

Hmm, well thanks, but that's kind of odd because all my laptop power supplies are marked as 110-240V and work fine with both US and UK AC power, having used them in both countries on many occassions with no stepdown

Also lik-sang and play-asia say that the PSP AC adapter is 110/240 switching as you can see. As do Playstation2Pro.com

And the Nintendo DS power supply is identical to the GBA SP adapter, which can be had in the UK for about £6. Think I'll just get one of those.

According to Gamesradar, there's a "Zone" mode in WipeOut Pure, which may well be what the Rez thing is. If it's something you can have on all the time... wooyay.

They've had the press playing 8-player Wi-Fi games of it and they plan to have weekly downloadable content. It's also going to be a UK launch title, apparently.

Note: he says he's drunk. That'll explain the blurriness.

Look at the photos of the screen in action on lik-sang (I linked to them as O-M-F-G a few pages back), and reassure yourself that it looks groovy.

Don't know what to do about the analogue though. Convince yourself that the d-pad's better? *shrug*

C'est la vie, I guess, I thought they were good for flash photography of an LCD screen for a really stupid angle. Especially for a handheld console.

As for the analogue... Gamespot say it's crap and doesn't do analogue, but they don't seem have any games for it, and they're the people who brought you "It'll cost $300". So they're clearly teh Biast.

To give you a further vague answer, I played some 3D game using the analogue controller at TGS and it was really rubbish, BUT it was a really unfinished game, and may not be indicative of the final product at all!

A screenshot doesn't = the same as the game moving. It could be blurry with a poor response time. A lot of people said they'd have to reduce the goodness of the TFT as it alone was costing something like $300 on the pre-production units.

Can't say I like the plastic quality on that screenshot up there. Looks no better than a DS.

Fair enough, but aside from the rumours that they'd have to drop the quality because it cost $300 (which were never actually substantiated IIRC), and linkster's post there, I can't say I've heard many bad things about the PSP screen, or a drop in quality from E3 to TGS to post-TGS press events.

Well, there's the possibility they may increase the screen quality - they're getting a lot of pressure from developers to do so - but I'd sure be pissed off if I got one of the early models and Johnny Come Lately got a spanky one.

Maybe all this fuss is for nothing though, eh? I mean when have Sony *ever* in their entire history purposely used crap components in a home console? :)
