They're all excellent, but be mindful of Only Yesterday and Pom Poko. The former is very much a nostalgia laden film and is consequently quite slow going, and Pom Poko involves raccoons with magical, oversized testicles!

The best ones are:

1979 - Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro - Writer/Director

1986 - Laputa: Castle In The Sky - Writer/Director

1988 - My Neighbor Totoro - Writer/Director

1992 - Porco Rosso - Writer/Director

Its not anime but get Iron Giant as well thats a bloody good kid's animation, and the last thing you need is to make your kid turn into an anime nonce.

Also don't bother with Princess Monoke its not suitable in that she won't understand it, and its pretty graphic for a Ghibli film. Also go and seek Go Panda Go its an aold anime again by Hayo as director and its really nice, however, go and get Spongebob too she love it.

Any Miyazaki is great. Either Nausicaa or Laputa if they liked Spirited Away.

How about Nadia: Secret Of Blue Water for a series? Jules Verne-ian adventure with the usual anime twist. I don't think there's a PAL version, though.

Iron Giant is great.

Last Exile is good, too.

And just to freak them out - chuck in some Brothers Quay!
