Anyone watch the live stream from fanfest? first part was rather crap except for the devs losing in the ff tourney to 2 tengu and a loki.

The keynote was very interesting and dust does look good, just waiting for the vids to be uploaded to youtube. Oh one vid you have to look out for is the dev rap video, fucking classic.

SO now we know some of the timeline for stuff in eves expansions, after dominion we get to concur and use planets! And then its Walking in stations. Oh and the planets in dominion look utter sex.

I'm have to admit I'm tempted to make a return... DUST or walking in stations might just do it...

I've given this another go. Been playing a few days, doing combat missions, just bought a sweet Rifter. How long is it before I'll be 'good' enough to get involved with a corp?

EDIT: Should've posted this in the other thread. Silly.

So I like cracked and resubbed for a month to see what was new, although I think I might have to rationalise down to a mere two accounts and maybe flog a character for some easy-ish ISK.

I can't remember what I was training for. Is Amarr still the FOTM?

Just been taking a bit of a break from eve at the moment. logged on a couple of times here and there but nothing much. I just have 4 days left for bs 5 to finish then on to drone interfacing 5 on xor then 16 days for bc 5 then finish off caldari cruiser 5 (10 days left on that) on tsol, should allow me enough time to get back into game with some new ships and shit.

Well it seems things are a changing. This was in the patch notes for Dominion, oh boy, l1 pirate missions Ho.

It is now impossible for players to never have access to agents. Level 1 agents, up to Quality 0, will be available to all players regardless of their faction, corporation, or personal standing with the agent. This does not affect Research Agents or access to the character location service offered by some agents, they maintain their high standards.

Did you hear majesta empire forgot to pay the alliance fee and got disbanded?

they are petitioning it but if that doesnt work they are fucked for domie as they wont get the 7 day reprive so will have to do a massive freighter op to move everything and start claiming as soon as the servers are up.

Sorry to sideline the thread, but can codes for new eve accounts be used as game time on old accounts?

There's an offer on Steam today, £3.74 for EVE, and I think I'll go for it if so - it'll be worth it to see all the graphical updates.

Client repair tool blog

bout bloody time

With EVE Online: Dominion about to be released, and most of the features covered in blogs and forum threads, one of the new upcoming Engineering improvements we're including is the awesome Client Repair Tool.

It does what it says on the tin; it repairs your client.

Often, with new releases, people run into issues downloading or patching their clients for a variety of reasons. With this tool, the days of forcing you to download the full installer are gone. Whether it's a corrupt harddisk, bad internet connection or some other reason, the tool lets you repair your client and then continue on to kill, mine or grief (delete as applicable) your way to the top.

The basics of the tool are simple;

* Download a list of what the contents of the client should be.

* Analyze the client on your hard drive, and compare it to what should be there.

* Download any missing or damage files via Microsoft's BITS protocol.

We host a listing of the client on our webservers, which the repair tool queries. It then uses a simple MD5 checksum to determine if the file on your harddisk is as it should be. If it isn't, a compressed replacement is retrieved from our Content Delivery Network and the broken one is replaced.

It's been in testing on Singularity for a while now, with good results, and we want to release it to all and sundry so that anyone who runs into problems with Dominion can get up and running as fast as possible.

The Client Repair Tool is the first of many amazing improvements we've got lined up to make client maintenance easier for you, and us. Exciting times!

Here's some images of it in progress to tide you over until you can bask in its awesomeness personally.

One of my corpies told me about this, just in case peeps dont know. when playing open your IGB, load up dotlan then click on the radar button (you will need to set it as a trusted site). it shows you on the map where the hell you are. I  CCP the nerfing sons of bitches.

Now Now lets try and keep some balance shall we. We all know that should lag get sorted sometime soon then the fight for geminite will be very differant. Particularly as nerfing Titans has lead to the biggest blob generally winning. Providing they load the grid of course.

Current theory within the NC is that its the new fleet system thats causing the lag. Although TBH noones too sure of anything.

The fleet system is causing some of it but not the main stuff. I think I will do the sisi strain test to help out, they may as well just ask north v south to come on and have a fight as were the ones who know where and when the lag is coming in to effect the most. I just hope that ccp get that they need to do it in 2 system and not just 1 as we need people to jump in and suffer the 30 minute jump lag.

Regarding the map I just had a good giggle at the stain wagon getting upgraded to a tank.

Each node actually covers about 2 to 3 systems or at least thats how it used to work.Having said that the fuck up the other day was caused by NC FC's being too brain dead to realise that jumping 800 people into a system with 400 people already in it was going to be a laggy hell. That would have been dodgy even before dominion. The stain tank was good though :D

Before the fight in K25-XD last week a gm was in system and said in local it was triple reinforced (I shit you not) and lagged to hell., next day ccp said they are having the sisi test, pre-dominion and post dominion patches.

Well I did want to keep playing this when I started back in October, but thanks to money stuff I couldn't. Been playing again the last few days though thanks to the 5 days free over xmas offer and think i'll be able to at least sub for January.

Anyway, low sec space. Should I just avoid it for the time being or is there anything there worth while? I only ask because I don't have a lot of cash at the moment and the only time I ventured there to go do a mission I gated in only for someone to blow up my destroyer. I'm just happy I didn't take the Mymrdon but it didn't really fill me with confidence that it was going to be anything other than expensive. On the other hand sitting around doing missions for the Federation Navy is going to get boring sooner or later.
