Halo2 Custom Game

Sounds alright, who wants to try it later?

Humans vs. Zombies

# Create a custom gametype that has no shields, no friendly fire, swords and shotguns to start, and only pistols on the map. (no nades either and we take radar off, way scarier)

# Get a group of 10 - 16 people to make it fun and put everyone on the red team except for one player, and put him on the green team. Now, the reds are humans, the greens are zombies.

# The game starts and the reds can only use magnum and shotguns while the green guy (zombies) can only use sword.

# Once a red is killed by a green guy he must hit start and switch to the green team. Now there are two zombies running around!

# You can one-shot the zombies with the magnum, so its pretty easy to kill them off, but trust me, you get enough of them to swarm, and it gets nasty quick.

# The last human on the board is declared the winner.

had good fun playing this at the EA meet. it does get repetitive but it's a great way to waste time if there is food cooking and you can't get into a 3hr capture the flag epic.

We took off all weapons from the map including grenades. We had the two starting weapons as Battle Rifle and Energy Sword with each side changing weapon accordingly.

You may think the battle rifle a little too powerful but not when the zombies team up. Great on Lockout and Ivory Tower.

I've played this a lot under the name of 'Dawn of the Dead.' We find that magnums and shotguns are a little too overwhelming, though: best to limit the humans to shotguns only. Last human standing becomes the zombie for the next round.

The best venue to play it is probably Foundation. All the humans should pile into Room 4, then melee the boxes to the door and form a barricade. Creative zombies can push fusion cores to the door for explosive fun.

Also try: King of the Dead (same basic rules, King of the Hill, humans must reach 2/3/5 minutes - it's surprisingly hard for the humans to hold out that long) and Zombie Ball (ditto, Oddball).

Foundation is a nightmare to play it on. It's near-impossible to kill any humans if they're all in Room 4.

Tsk, tsk. Where's your sense of adventure? Zombies should sacrifice a life or two knocking away boxes with swords - or, as suggested, they should push up a fusion core and leave it outside the door. You'll always get a human dumb or careless enough to blast away at it with a shotgun. Say goodbye to Mr Barricade, say hello to Zombifying goodness.

I thought it was a fun, knockabout game from what little we played at the EA meet. It worked really well on Ivory Tower and Lockout, where you're not defending a single entry point. Can't imagine it's a lot of fun on Foundation though.

It does depend on you having absolute faith in your teammates not to fuck up, otherwise it gets messy pretty quickly!

Yeah it really isn't fair to keep quiet when you can see multiple zombies approaching someones position.... but it does feel good to see them get killed. It gives you that "I could have saved your life but i didn't feeling"
