It's a gross generalisation, so I apologise for saying it, but all the insults have come from Merkins. It's probably just because of the sheer number playing. If there were far more UK types, they'd probably be just as abusive (if at least not making fun of accents. Maybe).

You're mostly right but I have played against some unbearable brits too. And some wonderfully polite merkins.

BTW, if you want some polite people to play with that don't care if you're wack you could join the nubes, or if you're in a clan, feel free to add some of us. Check the 'so you're useless at halo 2' thread...

We team sounds like a dodgy 70's pop/ballard band!

(Which is probably a good metaphore for playing against us, its a bit crap and cheesy but secretly you enjoy it :unsure: )

Maybe I'm just being really arsey here, but seeing as it's an Rllmuk Tournament, shouldn't at least one member of each team bother to register with the forum and enter the team themselves? Particularly if they might be taking a place away from forum regulars?

Nice to finally play some games based on these rules.

The only point I have is that Battle Rifles as a starter on Ivory Tower is stupid. It makes the Rifle/Pistol combo far too overpowered. Even dual wielding at close range fails to take it out the majority of the time, plus its nearly impossible to dodge the plasma shot. Considering the ease at which you can get Rifle/Pistol on it compared with a normal team slayer setting - it does sap the skill out of close-range combat somewhat.

Battle Rifles worked suprisingly well on Midship - helped balance out the Shotgun/Sword and on Asension it was a bit on a non-entity but obviously needed if one team snipes. The open-ness of Burial Mounds probably makes it essential aswell.

Just my 2p.

How do you know they arent?

They might have different gamer tags from usernames?

I am not saying they do, just wondered if you knew for sure?

I think your point does have some validity, if that is the case.

They're about as closely related as me and the Vikings.

I take your points on board. The problem is that because it makes you play so differently, a lot of people don't like it (especially at first.)

I hardly ever dual wield through choice, partly because its so random, and partly because grenades are such a big part of how I play.

I disagree. Some people become completely flustered upclose whereas others jump, kick, punch them all over the shop. Its usually messy, but approach, height, grenades and melee attacks all take a good degree of skill.

Sniping on the other hand..... ;)

I think your point does have some validity, if that is the case.

Erm, I don't actually know that, to be honest, just kind of guessed from the fact that they hadn't entered themselves, but were put down by someone else, and I searched for members with the same names and didn't find them.

If they are, apologies.

And I wasn't suggesting that they shouldn't be allowed to play by the way, just that if they want to take part they should join the forum (if they haven't already) and make themselves known, as much for the convenience of organising games as anything else.

In this case I think its the siblings of a couple of the forumites. I don't think there's anything wrong with anyone off forum entering, so long as they aren't ringers or anything. Most of Om Yom don't post here, and neither do a couple of Amazing Squad. I even specifically posted on Gamestyle to invite people in. The more the merrier I reckon, within reason.

See, you didn't mention dual wielding once there.

I agree close combat stuff takes skill - what I meant to say is that dual wielding takes the skill out of it. Anyone can push foward and hold down 2 triggers. Not everyone can tomahawk with the rocket launcher, or jump past an opponent, spin in the air and asassinate them.

The plasma is pretty lethal, but on Ivory Tower there are so many pillars and places to take cover, plus everyone can have the same thing. Plus if you get someone to miss the PP then you've got the shot advantage.

Still, let's try to encourage them all to join anyway, you can't see this sub-forum unless you're registered, and it makes the competition more fun if people are posting as well as playing. <_<
