((long story short: was working with the Nat Dip Crearts today and on a tangent we all worked on circle pics - draw circles then make pics from the results. When I drew mine out all I could see, literally all, was a vomiting grandma which I knew if I mentioned would almost derail the lesson. So I did it anyway... Finished it off just now, although in retrospect I should have changed the colour of the shoes. And probably a lot else but hey ho, fun for an hour or so)).

On a whim I asked for some of those Posca pens for Christmas. Now I'm short of inspiration of what to do with them. What materials do they write on well? How durable are they? I was thinking of modifying some old pin badges or something...

Personally I love the posco pens on scrunched up brown parcel wrap paper or rough black paper... My favourite pad for them was actually a black rippled craft book from rymans as it was both glossy and matte in a weird way that suited the pens. Failing getting that valgra do nice cheap brown paper pads which are pretty good too.

Hmmm on re-read I mean the pad from rymans was for scrap booking rather than out and out craft but I think they've cut down on craft materials now. It was the craft traditional 12 x 12 size which was quite nice for a sketchpad.

Also, while on the subject of using new stuff: people gave me some lovely pens/pencils at Christmas... Best of which were metallic Creatacolour pencils (solid graphite and water soluble, very nice) and a tin of inktense pencils which are ace and also water soluble. Up until now I'd been using graphitints but the colours on the inktenses are all sorts of ace. Anyone used these and got good things to draw on that make them more fun to use? At the moment I'm just using them on watercolour paper but may give them a bash on brown paper later today to see how they come out.

On the subject of plastics and pens I picked up some pens for a summer school last year and they are AWESOME on plastic and perspex... They're called Artline MuliPens and they're a little like a felt ti but one that puts an opaque line onto any material, glossy things like perspex included. We did a huge picture last year and it looked sweet as. They're cheaper than the liquid chalk pens as well. Less liquid looking but for bigger pictures on shiny surfaces definitely worth the dosh.

Argh, My eyes! It's all too awesome! ^_^

Lozzyboo: Wicked line art, dunno how you manage to crank them out so fast either - super-productive!

FargalEx: I trully LOLed at some of those drawings :(.... paint chat looks like mad fun.

S.Squid: Great stuff. I can totally see that being worked up into a vector illustration.

Gunstar: Damn! Those studies are so good...

I think they might already be having a little fondle with each other just below the picture, there.

Also, I can't really draw very well myself, but I enjoy lurking in here and thought it worth pointing out that you are all extremely talented, and you make me sick.

Man those are great. I can't comment on the proportions or anything (look fine to me..) I just love the brush you've used and the colours and the odd fashion sense. I keep coming back to these two, I don't know anything about fashion or what you're going for but these stand out. Her with the plumpish cheeks has a lot of character.
