That's awesome :lol:, the way you described the sea is so so good. It kinda reminds me of Ronnie Del Carmen's work. The card posted a few pages back is great too!

mrpranny> Bikini girl is nice! feels like you used less saturated skin tones than you normally do. I think the highlights on the girl's armour needs to be crisp (if they're metal, the skirt kinda looks like leather..) also the specular/highlight on the dude's face makes it look plastic, needs softening I'd say.

First you'll have to download the server app from here: http://attackreload.oekakiart.com/wp-conte...aintchat366.zip

You'll need to open the ports it uses, I forget what the default to - and then give your friends your IP followed by the port number once you've got it up and running. If, for example, your IP was 86.14.232.16 and the port was 18000 then the url you'd give would be http://86.14.232.16:18000. That should direct them to a lobby room where you can choose to enter using the normal or advanced tools (I prefer the normal interface personally).

On a more serious note, did you hand-draw the buildings, or is that a filter applied to a photographic reference?

Yeah, there is a definite change in style/feel from background to foreground, which is why I asked. The flat(ish) white of the hair on top of the head also stands out from the rest of the hair, which has much more work going on to give it definition.

Hence my whipped cream comment - the curly locks seem disconnected from the top of her head, so it looks a bit like she's a girl with a white hat reclining against mounds of whipped cream. That could be more to do with larry's comments about pervy onlookers, natch.

The lights in the water also caught my eye - at first I thought you had misplaced some reflections, but I'm guessing they could be pool-lights showing through, so the whole of the left-hand of the picture doesn't end up too dark.

I find pool lights really atmospheric and was my reason for the background in the first place, I wanted to draw a relaxing late afternoon scene - I was quite pleased with how the pool lights turned out actually. Her hair goes into curls as it goes down past her face, on top of her head it was supposed to be more flat which is why there's a massive white space. Oh sure, I got all that; I just read the picture differently when I first saw it - the way my brain works, I saw the pool lights first as reflections, then wondered why there were no matching lights in the trees, just ones offset too far. I doubt most people would give it a second thought.

Because you started out to draw pool lights and knew that's what they were, I bet you never 'flipped' them in your brain to see them as possible reflections, either! Doubly so because they were a key part of your original plan.

A friend decided he wants to start making/selling t-shirts and asked me to give him an image to test out the print quality.

I know these aren't new totally illustrations, but I re-did them a bit to work better on a t-shirt. No point in doing something from scratch.

Which one should I give him?

I'd say 2nd one. There's someone on deviantart, lastscionz who does these similarly effortless perspective drawings as well.

Hells yes, BK!! I love the second one. Evokes memories of classic 8/16-bit sc-fi videogames for me.

Definitely ! I was thinking of Metroid, especially with the static white. I want do something else like that now..

This one reminds me of what you were doing a couple of years back - brilliant stuff, all of it.

Thankyouu, that one is actually from August last year. I'm pretty glad a few of you picked it out now, because I've always liked it.

I went with the 1st one in the end. I dunno what my mate is gonna do with the test shirt, but if there's a chance I can steal it off him I think I'd rather wear the 1st picture.

Have you ever thought about setting up a small space to exhibit your work? I think your stuff would be amazing to see in the flesh, as huge floor-to-ceiling prints. Seriously.

Agreed, some sort of exhibition or installation would be a really good way of displaying your work, something physical.
