I NEVER knew about this. Gave it a wee go there. It's a DOPE technique!

I swear by layer blends. Multiply is fantastic for when you scan an image in and you want the white to be transparent.

Opaque: Looks like you got a bit mixed up with ol' Robert Pomp's face there and the smoke brushing past him, which you seem to have integrated into his suit. I think you've mistaken his cheeks for his eyes there? http://fargalex.monkeybasedesign.co.uk/ill.../robertpomp.jpg

Regardless - what program are you using here?

i did say that it was a rushed effort, after about four hours i got bored and didn't want to see my time wasted so posted it on here, just 'cos i could.

re: pomps, i can assure you it was pseudo improvised effort. i had a browse on your deviants page couple of days earlier and caught a glimpse of him, but when i was actually penning it in illustrator, my connection was off so i couldnt really refer to it for factitudes, hence the inaccuracies.

Regardless - what program are you using here?

photoshop 7, illustrator 10(no live trace!) on a really shitty thinkpad.

Yeah, Multiply is the only one I ever fucked with before. I nailed some high grades with that one back in the Photoshop 101 undergraduate days :)

The screen thing will be gettting annabel chonged with about 80% of my illustrated output all times soon. Pay attention to this thread to see how I'll be flipping it.

Gunstar - Thanks, I think me and Tofu have intended to do a bit of a colab more than a couple of times now but for some reason have never got round to it. He seems like a busy man, it's a shame he's not on here more often. On another note, do you do any illustration yourself?

Divine - I absolutely love that fish-eye lens footballer picture. Mahhhn, I love insane perspectives.

Opaque - Just saw your "revised" picture, haha! :D

Cheers for the comments guys, as always.

Divine, are you aware of Andy Kubert's work?

Nah, unfortunately not. Just googled him though, and came up with some mighty fine work indeed. I'm not as clued up on comic artists as I'd like, to be honest.

Very nice comic btw, the last three panels in particular are really well composed, imo.

Cheers dude. Never studied Illustration - not at college or anything, anyway. Those are just sketches done while I'm waiting for my computer to load at work, or when I'm trying to pose out a piece of animation with thumbnails. Just outta my head, really. Haven't done life drawing in ages... :)

Mahhhn, I love insane perspectives.

Me too! :(

Sorry its not that Fargal, I been suffering from depression since the start of the year but only tried to get help during the summer when my anxiety and depression got worse. Since then I done a few drawings but its the past few weeks when I felt alot better and done some stuff I'm proud of.

I love to collab still though, I mean if you want to email me or I email you we can get together and do some projects.

Thanks again Gunstar for the nice words and Divine, beautiful work as always. Ristar is doing some very good stuff too, reminds me of Skwak who is very cool.

Ah mahn! Sorry to hear that, but it's fantastic that you're getting back on track. Your flash looks really lovely - also I'm just browsing your website, looks fookin' ace! Well done that man! Nice to see your actual face on there too, though I can't really see the resemblance with Bill Murray. :D

We really much collab at some point, but I'm not sure when I'll have the time. I have a lot of work to be getting on with right now that I haven't even started yet..
