OTHER THINGS

5 Lego space base-plates - £4

Lego Mindstorms book - £1

Half-Life strategy guide - £1

Rubik’s Magic Rings - 50p

Many thanks to 213 for the route planning; I have yet to learn the skill of driving around the middle of random places that I don't know particularly well (in the middle of nowhere) and looking out for car boot signs… It was nice to have good company and I think we both found it was a nice change to:

a ) only seeing pikey dad once

b ) be places where it was nice an friendly and you could chat to the buyers

c ) find some bloody nice stuff and fairly cheap

d ) only see pikey dad... oh said that already

e ) not having to rush around like mad things, there was plenty to go around etc

Regards

Blimey, that is a haul and a half!

I am trying to imagine the reaction I'd get if I pulled up outside, asked the girlfriend to give me a hand carrying everything up to the flat and then popped the boot open to reveal all of that!

I think she'd start packing there and then! :D

I was quite surprised myself, I never imagined for a second I would do this well.

The Amiga stuff was nice, was well pleased with that.

I have lost hope in finding a proper Kula World on PS1, so I am going to finally admit defeat and trade in some of this crap and get the game I want.

If next week is this good I will be in shock, I don't think my little box room where I keep the crap and take much more...

just want to say - What a haul!

nice one!

ok, thats it, i'm going to go to my first one this weekend. I sold loads of my stuff from last year on ebay recently and made about £300 (hence my recent psp purchase)

I swore that would be it but you've made me want to go again!

:D

i saw one bloke selling 3 Gamegears in a carry case for £150 because apparently that's the going rate according to Miller's guide!!

Other than that i got a 128 Spectrum (pre-Amstrad) with loads of games for a fiver (and it works) i also got a Mario's Cement factory game and watch for 50p which looks unused, no marks at all complete with battery cover.

He hates everyone...!

no, He REALLY hates me and frankly I'm not sure he's keen on you either.........You showed a side to you I didn't think was there last year when dealing with him ;-)

What you have to remember is that I've been doing this years, I do look down my nose at him and yes I do wish everyone would piss off away from MY boot sales.

a very fair attitude I think you'll agree ;-)

True mate - we're talking about the SNES incident (among several others), aren't we?

Basically (for the entertainment of the forum) I spotted a SNES in a middle-aged lady's car, and asked if I could have a look when she unloaded it. Being a vaguely nice chap (and someone who doesn't like standing around, I helped her set up her tables and then dived in. Of course, Pikeymon waltzes up and offers her a £15 (I think) for the stuff (which was a pretty nice collection, a good 8 or 9 boxed games, some more loose, plus a good quality machine). I say 'excuse me, I was here first' and am backed up by the nice lady, who promptly offers me the whole lot for a cheeky tenner.

Cue scowl the size of Bristol on P-Daddy's face, and a grin like a cat on mine.

Fucking arsehole. If he so desperately wants to feed his kids come Christmas, he should either get a fucking job or get his ugly obnoxious wife to squeeze out another unfortunate member of their brood to serve up instead of a turkey.

And yes mate - I do agree. Apart from when it's me and CBK

Me too, and I don't even go car booting! Though I am tempted, but I wouldn't have a clue as to a good price to pay for anything.

I started going after being envious of these guys and picked up a Heroes of might and magic platinum collection for PC for £8 at the first one I went to this year. I would have happily paid £40 for this so I was a happy bunny. Some of the stuff I have picked up for £1 just makes it all worthwhile.

Why?

As far as I can see you are no better than the dealers that wander around - the ones that piss everyone off.

Don't you feel a bit of a selfish twat carrying all that home? Let alone gloating about peoples ignorance.

Sorry if this is inappropriate but it just seems completely shitty to me.

I am not sure what exactly is your point?

If I don't pick it up then I know somebody else will, and no I don't think its selfish, its there to be bought - isn't it?

Its all friendly bantor here as far as I am concerned, and if you have an issue with these threads then don't read them - you won't be missed I can assure you of that

Personally I will continue to pickup bits and pieces until its no longer worth it.

You're entitled to your opinion, but in this case, I think you may well be wrong:

Nah, we felt fucking brilliant lugging all that lot back and who doesn't like getting a bargain?

If you feel that strongly why not have a go at all the guys in the bargains folders and money saving expert forums larging it how they clear out the shops of all their sale stuff or loiter at a boot sale and slate a couple of buyers off man to man like?

A suprising amount of it is staying in chateau 213 as it was well worth keeping, the sheer amount of stuff that we left and others got was a suprise as well.

I do like to think that I'm more polite, don't like the term scavenge, prefer the label "vulture", I like to describe myself as a self funding addict....

Happy weekends kiddies..

As far as I'm concerned boot sales are the only affordable place left to pick up older games. Someone going around hoovering everything up stops other people from getting them. Then it's only people who can afford ebay prices can afford to play older games. I think thats unfair.

Maybe I made my point too aggressively - I'm a little under the weather. I apologise profusely.

I still don't like it though.
