Not sure why you think Rossi is a dick, aside from him being successful. I was very impressed that he actually carried on with a crash-damaged bike and still managed to scrape a couple of points, even if it did push James Ellison one place back. Great racing from Capirossi, stunning starts for both Pedrosa and Casey Stoner, and a surprise performance by Elias once he'd recovered from taking Rossi out.

Good result for Chaz Davies in the 250s on a stock bike, and a good result for Bradley Smith in the 125 GPs as well, just missing out on the points.

BSB was good and is repeated on Sky later, I believe. ITV coverage did suffer a little from being their first time, and the fact the Indy circuit is so short. Good to see a few new faces up front in that championship as well. 2006 is going to be a great season for MotoGP, WSB and BSB.

Dick is a bit harsh maybe, don't get me wrong he's an awesome awesome rider, I just find myself disliking him more every season. Still love to watch him race but he's attitude to Melandri last year when he was totally owned in Turkey I think it was, and his hissy fit when he came off today aren't endearing qualities.

It was an exciting race alright with the new riders really shining, this season is going to be superb.

Great start to the season, makes me remember why I love this sport so much. Pedrosa put up a good fight, unbelievable that he is 20. He raced such a professional race.

After the race he was fine about it, and Elias came and apologised. but you'd expect him to be a little angry when the adrenaline is going, everyone is going into the first corner of the first race, and someone just wipes him out.

I'd be mroe pissed off if he didn't react. And I was very impressed that he got back on and managed to finish.

Of course, you're getting me wrong, I like Rossi its just he behaves like a spoiled brat sometimes.

So, Losail in Qatar on Saturday (12:30 I think). Rossi will win this one, he'll make no mistakes and will be determined to win here after Jerez and I think he came off here last year.

Kr Jr currently fastest.

I reckon it'll be a fight between Rossi, Capirossi, maybe Gibernau, Pedrosa, Hayden and Stoner. And not Ellison sadly as he's down in 17th.

I'm not hedging my bets at all . It's interesting that Edwards is actually faster than Rossi so far :(

Oh and Chaz Davies is 23rd in 1st qualifying, probably back on a near-stock Aprilia, while Bradley Smith is 20th on his first time at Qatar.

I care; i've just been on holiday for a few weeks is all. Anyway, hoping Edwards does well, he's technically a great rider (not to mention a nice chap) and he's not had the best of luck since coming to Moto (bad luck and the fact that the aprilia was an uncontrollable beast).

I agree though Lunch Box - reckon Rossi will be extra determined to win this one and most likely will.

Pedrosa is an awesome talent, he's only 20 ffs!

I think Rossi, if hes doesnt win this year he'll stay and try to win the new championship next year before moving to F1/WRC but if he does i'll think he'll go.

Agreed, a future World Champion and no mistake. However, he has a way to go before he can take the crown from the Doctor.

Rossi FTW

Way to go Stone man, if you think about Stoner, Vermuelen and Hopper can all be claimed to be semi British, well English. Wheres the next Mackenzie or Hizzy though -_-

Where'd Ellison finish in qualifying?

You don't wanna know.

But on the bright side, not that far behind Checa.

Sweet race. Nice work by Hayden, it's consistency like this that'll steal a championship. There was a great battle between Pedrosa and Melandri I would have liked to have seen more of it.

Edit: Oh and BBC2 was out for me so I had to listen to the fucking shit talk of Irish commentator Peter Collins, listening to him almost ruins the race, yes he's that bad, just awful.

Eurosport FTW as far as MotoGP goes - The commentary team is at least 5,234 times better than those two souless nobs on BBC2.

And yeah, Forza Rossi!

Very true, but I don't get Eurosport, and on the occasions that I've watched it on Eurosport there's a guy who sounds like he's talking out his arse, all lispy and raspy, irritates me, still better than the BBC though. The BBC guys are dream compared to Collins though, can anybody back me up. I'll try and find a sample, he does the F1 as well, and the football sometimes, he ruins everything.

Eurosports coverage of the bikes is the best there is, except for the adverts and the annoying habit of showing us the goons in the garage whenever anything remotely exciting happens, I dont care what their reaction is! Now if they put a camera in the brolly dollies changing rooms.............

Some excellent racing in Turkey today with a nice deserved win by Marco Melandri in the GP.A good ride to 4th for Vale from 11th on the grid, getting quicker lap by lap.The nearly huge accident on the last lap of the 250cc race  How the crap did DeAngelis manage to save that,i bet his y fronts need a damn good wash after that. Shame about young Bradley Smith falling in the 125cc race

MotoGP.com live streaming for the win. No ad breaks, full coverage of practice, qualifying and the races, and I can watch it in the garden!

Great races, especially the 250s and De Angelis was lucky/superhuman to save that bike from crashing. Good rides from Stoner and Pedrosa besides Dani losing the front....what a wally.

Don't forget British Superbikes are on today from 3.30pm on ITV

Class race. Well ridden by Pedrosa for his 1st MotoGP win. Shame about Rossi's tyre falling apart, was making good time 'til then too. Really hope they sort out the chatter problems soon, could make for some awesome racing by him on a come-back and a close finish to the championship

Can't believe I missed the race, but will get a chance to watch it tonight on motogp.....at least i've got Pedrosa in ym fantasy team.

Cost for streaming video is about 30 Euros for a season...seems to work well even on a 512M connection at high quality, and has it's own commentary for the racing. means you can also watch the 125s and 250s without a need for Sky/Eurosport...

It'll be good to see if Rossi can come back from an awful start to the season.....can't remember the last time he faced a challenge like this, especially as both he and Edwards are supposed to be two of the best development riders around.

Yeah BSB was rained off.Switched over to ITV to watch it after the Moto GP and it was some crappy old-school film.Wondered what was going on but eventually the World touring cars came on and they said about the BSB
