What Are You Playing?

I went away for a few days last week and came back and haven't touched Fable. Makes me wonder whether it's just the game or I have no desire to play anything. I shouldn't have to motivate myself to play a game. Maybe I ought to just sell the 360. I fancy a Lite but I know I'll get one, several new games and I won't play it. Rubbish.

Then again I really want Dead Rising. What'm I to do, eh?!

Is someone holding a gun to your head? If the answer is "no", then wait for Dead Rising. Otherwise, sharply kick your assailant's arm to the side, and run for it.

Currently playing:

DS - Animal Crossing: WW

PC - World Of Warcraft

PS2 - Metal Gear Solid 2

PS1 - Ridge Racer

Sell the 360 and buy a Lite and Dead Rising.

That way you'll fulfill the prophecy of not playing either of them what with them being incompatible, plus you'll have a bit of extra cash lying about to spend on other things.

Playing:

Turbo OutRun (MAME) - What a mess. No wonder Sega like to pretend it never existed. Nice music though!

OutRun (MAME) - Still beautiful on it's 20th anniversary. No-one makes driving games like Sega used to. Not even Sega can. :(

OutRun 2006 (PC) - Well, maybe they can get it right every now and again. It's still totally amazing. Playing the PC version on my iMac and I can understand why it's not on 360. The textures are really low res which would upset a fair few HD snobs and loathesome magazine cunts. "It's a nice game, but it's not really pushing the 360. Buy PGR3 instead - 6/10"

Crazy Taxi (PS2) - And again. The commercialism and demographic pandering that I hate so much about this industry, somehow turned into something utterly timeless and wonderful. Only an on-form Sega can do this. I look forward to them making a game about bald headed space marines.

Trying to get fucking OS X Warcraft III to work on an Intel iMac - GRRRR. Universal Binary please Blizzard.

Advance Wars DS :: Bloody class game.

New Mario Bros :: Really nice, although short. The coin hunt is promising to be entertaining.

Brain Training :: Nice, better than I expected. The voice recognition is dodgy though.

Half-Life 2: Episode One is pretty spiffy, isn't it? Starting it straight out of HL2, I thought it would be a bit dull but it wisely gets straight in there with the set-piece action. The ride in the minivan at the start is fantastic.

I started playing Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door on my GC this weekend. Completed chapter one about an hour ago and I'm loving it so far. I sense even more greatness is on the way and can't wait to get back to it.

In chapter one I liked the bit where...

You have to get the stone keys. Mario arrived at what looked like the inevitable boss battle and then it turned into some sort of glitzy game show. Brought a smile to my face.

I'm playing Hitman: Blood Money at the moment, and enjoying every moment. Haven't played a Hitman game since a brief sojourn with number two, but this just feels right somehow.

And despite me usually being very impatient (I remember going Postal in Hitman 2 on the majority of occasions due to being bored), I've been doing everything by the book. Consequently, my Notoriety is zilch, and my level is 'Hitman'. However, I am playing the thing through in Normal mode at the minute, so just how good I really am is debateable.

Whilst the background graphics are absolutely for show, I'm very impressed with the look of the game, and the sound effects of the guns and weapons is spot on.

Lovely.

Picked up Ghost in The Shell: Stand Alone Complex on PS2 today, got it for £4 because Gamestation foolishly gave me £8 for Siren and Deus Ex.

I'm on the 4th mission and its been quite excellent so far, good graphics (nothing absolutely breathtaking but they have some nice touches and good atmosphere), controls well considering the PS2 sticks, wall jumping and the fancy dodge flips are great and a multiplayer mode :)! in a PS2 game!

Wonderful music too, I would have been happy paying several times what I did

.::: Does it have any connection to the story of SAC or 2nd GIG? (I would LOVE a game based on the final events of the SAC storyline.)

Finally got into Advance Wars DS after a long train journey forced me to put some time in - it could have been so much more, and yet its still great by being exactly the same.

Aside from that, I've had nothing to play for aaaages, so finally picked up Dragon Quest to plough through whilst I'm waiting for the summer lull to finish. Its aces, although surprisingly hard.

And Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory at on the work LAN at lunch. With 16 peeps its an absolutely fantastic game - I'd never played it before, but am now so, so, so looking forward to Quake Wars.

I decided to trade in Dragon Quest- it's doing my nut in being hammered by monsters every three feet. I mightp ic it up again in Winter. I bought Ghost Reconn 2 PS2 instead since I'm going to be hooking up the old Network Adaptor for the first time, and fancied an online experience that was a bit more tactical.

Shame the Single Player is basically the same as every other dodgy soldier sim out there- its rediculously planned what you have to do, and you just have to do it.

I don't think it does, but I haven't completely finished watching SAC though. It has lots of references to the series like that little square Jameson robot turns up.

It also has really clever platforming bits that you really have to improvise, they're not annoying or anything but pretty rewarding when you figure it out and use the wall jumps well.

I picked up Flatout 2 t'other day, 'tis a funny game and there's a Delorean in it so well worth the pile of shit I traded for it. Majora's Mask is on the bill too and I'll ploughing through AC04 with a bit of Sega Rally thrown in for good measure :)

Started on Pursuit Force, which is pretty slick. We'll see how that goes.

Given up on Oblivion, now. After 70 hours, I consider it good value for money.

I'm 24 songs though Guitar Hero's Expert mode, which is hella cool, but I still suck at hammer-ons, so I'm gonna hit a wall pretty soon.

Slowly edging through Half-Life 2. It seems so bloody long! Not liking the combat bits at the moment - setting up gun turrets = frustrating. No idea how long is left.

Meh, Animal Crossing, occasionally, still, but not often. That's about it.
