I'm still rocking the handhelds. And when I say handhelds, I mean the DS Lite. It's the most gorgeous bit of gadgetry ever  I'm still playing Mario & Luigi 2, Polarium and I've just picked up New Super Mario Bros again- I'm going for all of the coins now.

I'm bored with my PSP, again. I'm sick of the shit controls, the shoddy screen and the uninspiring line up. Loco Roco was fantastic while it lasted but I can't be bothered going back to it, and there's little else at the moment.

Oh, and home consoles FTL! Well not really, but there is absolutely fuck all out at the moment for any of the main consoles. I have been playing Mario Sunshine today though, it's very relaxing.

Urban Reign (PS2), which I just picked up today, and which apparently hates me in a variety of massive ways. I like the fact there's a dodge instead of a block, which adds a bit more skill to it, but it's frustrating that I'm coming up against people with more moves than me - five or six hit SPA juggles, when both of mine thusfar are one-hitters, can fuck off, really. Will stick with it though, no doubt after dropping down a difficulty level. Has promise.

That aside, Loco Roco and NSMB still, and of course, Third Fucken Strike. I'm still improving but need regular human competition. This country really, really needs an arcade scene ffs.

I've not been playing much recently. The odd bout of PGR3, which is just so pretty, and not as boring as I thought it would be.

Oh, and King of Fighters 2003, which is rough as hell (especially on an LCD, and the 3D backgrounds are hilarious), but seems to be really rather good. Falcoon art and Mark of the Wolves characters and everything <3 <3 <3. They managed to shovel in 3 SNK bosses though. THREE.

And EVE is lurking in the background, being boring/fascinating as always.

Having finished by brief dalliance with Prey, I am back into Oblivion full-time. I am trying to make a concerted effort to finish the main quest but still get sidetracked by miscellaneous quests or the new downloadable content.

On the PSP, I couldn't get into Loco Roco (I know, dead inside) so Everybody's Golf is keeping me going.

When I get chance, I play Fable, which is great (although with a few, small, irritating bugs, despite this being the LC version).

Mostly, though, it's PSP Tekken 5: DR, which is fabulous. I'm having a bit of a psssp revival at the moment, what with this and the wait for new G'n'G and Every Extend Extra.

Zelda the wind waker, its well pretty!! And fun too lets not forget, but a bit too much wandering and talking so far, I want more dungeon crawling which I'm sure will start properly soon.

Resident Evil 4, is a great game! I'm only about an hour and a half in and I should really play more but I'm happy playing a bit at a time. I don't remember the other games in the series being this arcadey (with the kick moves and stuff), this is the biggest improvement mid way through a series that I've ever seen.

Paper Mario: TTD, my favourite RPG ever, I'm about 10 hours in, it makes other RPGs feel like reading a really dull book.

Other titles for my gamecube I've bought and will start soon: Metroid Prime 2 (I think I might get the first one to go through first), Super Mario Sunshine and Killer 7.

I'm about to finish Fallout 2 for the first time ever. Not as good as the first game, but tons of fun with wonderful references to various movies and pop culture phenomena. I'm thinking of going through it again just to try out a different character, but then there's also...

New Super Mario Bros

Mario Kart DS

Phoenix Wright

Advance Wars Dual Strike

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

And then probably ten more DS titles in the near future...

Polished off Urban Reign's story mode with a little over three hours on the game clock - now that's my kind of game. Typical Namco, though - looks like I'm barely scratching the surface as it's opened up all manner of stuff and given me extra characters and whatnot. But I've really enjoyed it; a tenner well spent imo.

About to start on Beyond Good & Evil which is also quite short, right? Been after it for ages and finally picked it up the other day.

Just bought a 360 today

ghost recon, oblivion and hitman

I'll probably mostly be playing hitman, despite being as sneaky as Tommy Sheridan in a swingers club.

On psp - Tales of enternia.

Have fun!

The NinetyNine Nights demo came out today, i'd download it, it's great fun!

TBH I didn't have a problem with the stealth bits, it was a perfect combination of action, stealth and puzzles. One of the best adventure games I've played in recent time and proof that a game doesn't have to be 40+ hours to be great.

A shame it sold so poorly. :o

Radiant Silvergun :(;):(

I've had an iso of it sitting on my hard drive for ages, but my old PC couldn't run SSF. The new one runs it flawlessly. It's such a fantastic game, and it's so good to be sitting here playing it again without having had to pay some ebayer upwards of £100 for the game and a Japanese Saturn.

Still having a great time with the PSP, too - LocoRoco, Wipeout and Daxter (but especially Wipeout) are all getting lots of love.

My favourite game of the Xbox/PS2/GC "era" so far...er, I mean JSRF. Glided around a few of the districts, and then went and completed the tutorial missions, despite having finished the game months ago. I know a lot of tutorials have tutors that mockingly take the piss out of you in that "not bad for a newbie" way but Roboy's comments were pretty amusing.

Oh boy, I got a DS lite for my birthday last Saturday (cheers, my darling fiancee), so I've been playing:

Metroid Prime Hunters

Wow, it's ace! I thought it was just a multiplayer thing (which would've been a drag, being as I don't have WiFi at home, or owt), but there's a full-on singleplayer game. Graphics are fantastic, music is good, the FMV bits are nice, albeit a bit compressed (I like the use of the two screens - sometimes two camera angles, sometimes one big image), and the controls are surprisingly good, once you've got a hang of it. And I :( the sound design when you're in your ship and using the interface. Lovely and crisp.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Wow, it's ace! Didn't quite know what to expect, but bought it just because it seems so different to anything else around. Really enjoying the evidence gathering, and the courtroom scenes work really well (in that you can go back and forth through testimonies to look for holes). Really feels like old Amiga pointnclicks, in that sometimes you're looking for slightly off-kilter connections that probably made perfect sense to the programmer. OBJECTION!

New Super Mario Bros.

Wow, it's ace! It's nice to play a pure Mario game after a really long time (last thing I had was Yoshi's Island on GBA, which I never finished). It's this game more than anything that hits home how rich the DS's colour palette is, and how crisp and bright the screen is. I've just reached an underwater section which is lush. Love how Mario says 'bye bye' when you put the DS to sleep. Great touch ;)

New Super Mario Bros.

Wow, it's ace! Well, sort of. The missus bought it for herself, and is a whizz on the arithmetic stuff. I'm enjoying having a play with it, although the Lowest-to-highest game is just too hard for me. I'm a graphic designer, and as such am not used to taking visual information in at high speeds (I like to analyse). Oh well. Sudoku can fuck off though - too much like hard work.

In all, I didn't think I was in a gaming 'lull' at all, having recently finished GTA: SA, and just starting Batallion Wars, but the DS has made me properly EXCITED to play games again, where previously I was simply enjoying it as a relaxing pastime.
