Star Wars Tv Stuff

I can picture it now - the young Luke going about his business (shooting wamprats etc.), then coming over all funny and having 'visions' of far off places and space battles or being 'unnaturally' good at building stuff / racing stuff.

etc, etc, etc...

kevin smith would be awful. just because he digs star wars doesn't mean he is okay to write and direct it.

it needs a visual film maker (which smith isn't) who understands character (which smith does in a quirky sense).

but then again, anyone is better than lucas. jar jar the tv series anyone?

Kevin Smith is the voice of the deserted generation of Star Wars fans.

Dunno about that, Kev loves the prequels and seems to be as big a SW fan these days as he ever was. In fact in the Picadilly Circus Q&A recently he was raving about them big time, and how Star Wars will forever own LOTR.

Directing, no but as far as writing goes, I don't see too much of a problem. If nothing else, he can be an excellent dialogue man when he wants to be, something the series has always lacked.

The only real problem is that if it's going to be Ayala on the run and hooking up with a bunch of smugglers, well, Firefly/Serenity has/is kinda already doing that, and better. Mal & Jayne > Everyone else ever

It's also been suggested Jimmy Smits' Bail Organa may be a recurring character as well, assuming he's no longer on The West Wing by the time they start production.

Animated show Clone Wars, currently broadcast as three-minute episodes, will become "a 3D animated" series of 30-minute shows, he said.

NO

:(

Although a 3D version of the Gendy whatshisname character designs would be interesting to see.

Sweet Jesus.

I really can't abide people who bang on about George Lucas 'putting another nail in the coffin that was their childhood' (and so on) when talking about the prequels, but surely there's a time to leave the franchise alone.

Isn't there???

I thought Young Indy was pretty good

I'd go one better and say it was a great series. Interesting, generally well written, fantastically slick and well produced, and had heart in all the right places. It stretched the 'Indiana Jones' Legend to the point of being completely ridiculous, of course (gee that bloke got around, and met like every famous person ever) but that's all part of the charm. Educational, too, which for once isn't a dirty word.

Still waiting on a DVD release. Fingers crossed.

If the Star Wars show folllowed suit, I see no reason why it couldn't be great. It's not taking anything away from the Movies - Young Indy never did, did it?

It could be about Vader hunting down the last of the remaining Jedi. Every episode could be about Vader hunting down and killing another Jedi. That would be excellent.

No doubt Lucas will turn it into a Smalville Type show. All about teenagers with Issues and crap!!
