Trailered before Sin City, can't see any threads, not even a mention in Empire. But what a fucking trailer! Potholing - ugh. Heavy breathing, water dripping - eek. Loud music - maybe it's just about pot holing. BAM! Little gargoyle. YEEESSS.

Please please please be good ...

Neil Marshal the director said he is going for a very hard 18 cert, this won't be any kind of kids movie. Been reading his diary in Total Film and because of the way it's obviously written (time line wise) it seems like he got approval to shoot and then suddenly the thing is a month from release!

I put the flash trailer in one of my trailer threads a while back. Looks fantastically terrifying. He's shooting another movie soon called Outpost, about viral mutation on an oil rig.

TRAILER!!!!!!

WHY WASN'T I TOLD!!??

This is based on the jeff long book about a the discovery of a race of "demons" that evolved, unknown to us, under the surafce of the earth and are led by a being called satan?

If it is I'm more excited than I have ever been before, I fucking loved that book.

Now if I had a Vadim movie and a terry pratchett movie my book to films lust would be sated.

Watched the trailer via your thread Goose and loved it. I hope Neil Marshall's career is long and successful.

Here you go Miffed..

http://www.thedescentthemovie.co.uk/

It's only a flash trailer but it looks pretty damn good.

I don't think it's based on the Vadim book at all I'm afraid, it was written from scratch by Neil Marshall as far as I know.

Cheers!

I'll watch this at coffee break time or tonight if I don't get the chance.

Vadim is a character created by Donald James, he's a hard boiled russian detective from murmansk. Great books, begging to be made into a film.

You read non-porn stories, miffed?  :D

You keep surprising me.

I love books, I'm reading the new phillip roth atm.

There's so much that would make ace films too, I reckon the time is completely right for pratchett to finally give the go ahead for a movie, whilst the pythons are still young and terry gilliam has'nt retired as a director yet.

Saw this trailered before Sin City and have been meaning to ask if anyone else is looking forward to it.Its supposed to be more serious than Dog Soldiers and the trailer makes it look fucking superb.

One to go and see on day of release.

Just got the new Total Film and that has a review (positive 4 stars) and a really good set report. It sounds even better than before having read the set report. Tonnes of blood and primal instincts etc.

Surely better than a lot of the watered down pg13 crap trying to pass as horror movies of late.

:) cool, always good to know.

(not even listed on Empire Online as a future film. Useless cunts. I really should start buying TF instead).

The set report was what sold it to me.

The description of how one of the characters stoves her friend's head in with a rock was downright disturbing. But in such a good way

I liked the ending of the report to, when he said he'd never sell out and remake Evil Dead ;)

One of his other ideas, the medieval heist movie could rock!

IIRC, he's doing a movie called Outpost next, about an oil rig research place that gets infected by something.
