Hours

I love it.

I didn't think that FFAF would be able to create an album of the same standard as Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation, but somehow they've managed to.

I was scared when FFAF said that Hours wasn't going to feature as much shouting as Casually Dressed did; I had fears that Hours was going to be full of boring, gentle songs.

I was wrong. Much of the screaming is gone, but the energy is still there. Indeed, if anything, as an album as a whole Hours feels like it has more energy than Casually Dressed.

I won't say that Hours is a better album than Casually Dressed. They're very different. Hours manages to feel fresh and new... but at the same time still retains that classic FFAFness. It's evolution, not revolution.

Some of my favourite songs from it are: All The Rage, Recovery, Roses for the Dead, The End of Nothing, Streetcar

Everybody here with the slightest interest in the Punk/Post-Hardcore scene needs to head down to their local record store NOW!

Or just be like me, and download it. Whatever.

It's a pretty good release, I like it but it does feel slightly middle of the road. Still, the stuff before Casually Dressed was where it truely was at FFAF wise.

Has to be said though, the artwork for Hours is shockingly bad.

IMO FFAF are at their best when they have their melodic hats on for show!

Casually dressed took a few listens to really enjoy it, and seeing them live was cool!

I got the album today and I agree with everything dam_aks says here. It seems to be quite a bland album on first listen, but maybe it'll grow on me.

I was surprised with the choice of single, though. Streetcar's probably my least favourite track on there (so far) and it's horribly gimmicky too. I had dismissed it as filler until I looked at the tracklisting.

I've had it for a few days, but haven't even listened to it yet, as I got Finch's new album at the same time, and I've been listening to that loads.

May give it a listen sometime, but I'm seeing Funeral on the 30th, so that'll probably make me more interested.
