Me and Gambit (Adam1986) were playing a big team battle last night where we got matched with a bunch of random yanks on Containment, 1 bomb Assault.

Our team goes first, carrying the bomb all the way to their base rather quickly, but didn't manage to score. Round over - round 2. -_-

Their move. We are watching the snowy fields, and what comes flying (yes, FLYING) over the bridges in the middle? A WARTHOG. :rolleyes:

A bloody flying warthog! Everyone starts yelling "cheaters, cheaters!" and I'm off to grab a rocket launcher to take it down.

So I'm walking in the cave on the left of our base and what do I see? Someone is running towards me at incredible speed! He runs past me a split-second later, and I'm struggling to speak for a moment. Then I yell "someone's coming in at high speed!!!" and a second later the booming voice goes "BOMB ARMED - ROUND OVER" 8)

That's when my team goes bonkers and furious. The next round I manage to hijack their flying warthog, pull out the fucking cunt behind the wheel, and as soon as I take it, it crashes and explodes, killing me. :P

Back to life, I'm getting my first one-on-one confrontation. He hasn't seen me yet so I fire at him. After one clip to the head and a couple of grenades he kills me, unscratched. In the meantime a teammate came to help me, and got killed as well.

God mode? :blink:

Post-game, their team blatantly denied they were cheating...of course lads. Say goodbye to Live soon.

It's really satisfying beating, or in the case of a Roll Muck game once drawing, against cheaters.

Our game was CTF Zanzibar and they used the old Elite dummy glitch but still didn't beat us and got cheating feedback to boot. :)

That's ace. Well if it wasn't being used to up their levels that is.

I wish Bungie did allow everyone to mess with the config file for custom games, things like lowering the gravity in Counter-strike as a change adds some extra fun to the proceedings ;)

Maybe with the 360 they will be doing things like this for the market place, downloadable mods anyone that makes the battle rifle fire plasma grenades? :D

Ahhhhhhh.... well a dude DID jump really high from the roof of their base on Coag yesterday...

i've been on a team of randoms in big team and somebody was doing that, he said it was like the super-jump thing in zanzibar where you can get on the roof of the base.

Jon's right, that's the Super Jump.

I can't do it but Mini can; it involves crouch walking into certain bits of scenery (one of the interior windows in Zanzibar and part of the base structure in Coag) and then jumping slightly sideways and 'up, up and away' you go.

Yeah its easy to do, but you have to have your Xbox set to Pal 60 Hz. Spud has his set to 50 Hz, and he can never do it.

It is classed as cheating btw, so I wouldnt do it if I were you.

Super jumping is classed as cheating? Is it not just a simple way of using ingame environments to get to hard to reach places. For example standy-bying is cheating because Bungie did not include it in the game. Super jumping is just doing something that Bungie accidently didn't test. They can change it to stop it.

Im pretty sure though that cheating in the form of altering the code of halo of modifying the maps in your HD is cheating. Rules can be stretched.

So getting on the roof of the base in Zanzibar is considered cheating? I thought it was simply exploiting an existing feature. I hate it with a passion, but unless Bungie change the code (or fix the map, whichever one works) then I have to put up with people doing it.

If it's cheating, and Bungie have made that explicit, then yay! :D

What feature is that? Its a glitch, a bug in the system. If you have 40 people playing a game they will find bugs, when you have X million testing it you'll find things them 40 testers would never have found if they played the game for 100 years.

Also its probably hard to fix, patches on xbox games are very limited to changing key things, stuff like that will be deep in the code.

Also its not a 'hard to reach place' Getting onto the cliffs on coag is a hard to reach place, getting onto the roof where the only means is to glitch is not a hard to reach place. Basically whats probably happening is when you jump, master chief is getting caught and like an earth quake the pressure builds up (in this case in split seconds) and master cheif then becomes free and flies up into the air. Loads of games have this sorta glitch.

Its out and out cheating, thats what it is.

Ive also noticed a lot of cheating with weapons lately, for example on ivory tower four sniper rifles becoming available, on coag teams starting with rocket launchers on normal team slayer matches meaning theres often 3 rocket launchers on the map.

Ivory Tower the Sniper respawns fairly quickly, always ends up with 3 or 4 around

Coag, were you playing HUMAN Slayer per chance ie. Brute Shots replaced with Rocket Launchers

It certainly wasnt brute shots because brute shots do not lock onto banshes in the air. And the sniper in my experience only respawns if you are either A) out of ammo or B) throw the weapon away. It doesnt ALWAYS end up with 3 or 4 snipers on the level.

The Brute Shots are REPLACED with Rocket Launchers on HUMAN Slayer. And you're utterly wrong about the Sniper on Ivory Tower, it constantly respawns.

Where's Legendary when you need him
