Our B team was playing their C team, we scored 5 away from home and still couldn't win - this is even worse when you look at our defence which had Holding & Bellerin who people have been calling for in the first team, and a late appearance from Tierney as well. 

 

Mustafi is obviously Mustafi but he is not to blame for the whole debacle defensively, especially when you consider we didn't ship 5 to Mane/Salah/Firminho.

 

Hanging on at 4-5 could have been a nice little boost and crack papered a bit more, instead its another dismal defensive capitulation.

that 'apology' smacks of Xhaka's 'people' and the club PRs going back and forward all week to come up with a text all parties find acceptable, which means it kind of misses the point as far as the fans go.

 

the abuse is horrible of course, but on the fact he never seems to learn or improve you do wonder about the coaching side of things again at the club.

The abuse is terrible and unforgivable, but any man who takes stock of the comment section of Arsenal's social channels needs his head testing. No offence intended, but these aren't match going fans. It tends to be a sea of accounts from 'emerging markets' saying things like "It is our exalted squad captain who is true coward and brings much shame to our honour mountain." Then prays for the club to burn down because he a wore rainbow armband. Fuck that noise.

 

I don't agree with the booing at the ground at all, but that's on Emery. He just seems to have a parade of players he seems willing to sacrifice at any time to deflect from the shitty job he's doing.

Not sure what to take from that. The second half, particularly when Lacazette came off, reminded me of when we used to play the likes of Denilson, all passing but no real threat on goal. Thought Ozil played well and liked seeing Torreira

There was an article in one of the papers pointing out that of the three-person committee who appointed Emery only Sanllehi is still at the club. And he's been friends with JM going back years.

I know he's a tit but I really though Rodgers would have been a good appointment after Wenger left. I think that's ships sailed now TBH though.

 

Honest to god, if the board get rid of Emery (which I don't think is a given at this stage) and hire Mourinho it's a really bad sign of things to come.
