That double substitution at the back unbalanced the defence and made the last 20 minutes harder than they should have been.

I agree it unsettled us, but now was the time to give the understudies some minutes at 4-1/4-2 up, not rotating is  what fucked us towards the end of last season, we got injuries and when we needed to call on players they weren't up to speed.

For me it was the Partey sub for Elneny. Partey is critical for us, we always look vulnerable when he’s not on the pitch, not helped by the fact that Elneny is at best average. It’s the one position above all we need to strengthen as Lokonga isn’t much cop either.

Interesting write up as shows just how far the game has moved on in terms of how the data analysis is viewed

Of course even a PFM like Arry would like a big midfielder like Partey, but this is now layering in understanding of what they do and thus what else is needed around them to build a good team

Hoping we've learned our Pepe lesson and aren't getting bid up on Mudryk by Chelsea.

He may be a very good player, but at that age with only 50 odd games under his belt the fee they keep saying they want for him is madness, especially when they keep quoting the daft money Utd were forced to pay out for Antony. That isn't a measure of the general value for inexperienced/talented wingers, it's a measure of one team panicking and overpaying massively to keep their new manager happy.

I'd rather we walked away and demonstrated that hard lessons have been learned, even if it means looking elsewhere.

I guess we’ll just walk away and he can ride the bench with all the other wide player flops at that shitty club. We’ve already overbid for him I reckon. My worry is he’s obviously Arteta’s man and we’ve shown before we won’t compromise and would rather go without, which looking at our options would most likely see us empty the tank quite quickly. I sort of hope we go for Torres as he’s an absolute gem and probably part of the ongoing Barcelona fire sale event so would be relatively cheap.

Even a silly loan fee for Felix & wages makes some sense as doesn't tie you into a massive multi year outlay.

Yep. Except they apparently want a commitment to buy in the summer included.

:)  Two great deliveries for the the goals - yeah, I know one was a freekick but it was a quality ball.

Changing Lokonga for Xhaka seemed to help Vieira I think
