Good win, but if you look at the stats looks like a smash and grab rather than the first half domination you thought you watched.

Ramsdale was brilliant, plus hopefully got Richarlison a retrospective ban for hitting him for smiling at him and inciting a fan to hoof him over the hoarding.

I'll avoid quoting some Tottenham Hottakes from the first NLD but we really are an exceptional team and surely everyone realises it now.

Watched a comp during the week of Jesus' first few weeks and its easy to forget he was almost unplayable at times.

And we're doing this without him. Everyone's worried about the back 9 but I actually think we can get better.

I thought Arsenal played exceptionally well in the first half if a little lacking in end product, sounds odd when you go in two nil up but you should have been out of sight - Ramsdales save at 1-0 was key, Son should have scored but the game was a tale of 2 keepers really and vastly different performances.

I thought Richarlison actually pulled Ramsdale away!? there was no ‘hitting him’ and he pulled him away as Ramsdale was being an idiot to the crowd - doesn’t make anything that happened with that ‘fan’ anything other than abhorrent.

Odd that there is so many games left mid way through January but it would take a collapse of Liverpool levels for your lot to not win it now as bitter as that is to say - I would suggest we will give Man City the usual beating mid week to help you but I dont think even we are ‘Spursy’ enough to do that these days….

I know thats the Arsenal edit for social media but its worth showing the whole bit for context - Ramsdale is clearly inciting the crowd with his antics after the final whistle - he doesn’t look to the players, the arsenal fans as the whistle goes but turns around to the biggest stand in the ground and does his usual antics, Richalison goes up to him and is clearly telling him not to be such a prick and pulls him away from it - its not him steaming in and assaulting Ramsdale (as thats what you’re accusing him of doing) and Ramsdale hasn’t mentioned it at all - one suspects as he is aware he will get in hot water for inciting the crowd.

Again, as much of a prick as Ramsdale was it does not in any way excuse the fan of doing what he did - its been said he will be banned for life, details handed to the Police and properly dealt with as he should be.

Richarlison should be finding himself in hot water but I doubt he will. The guy is such a norse it's unreal.

He is a total prick, he winds people up to get reactions - same as Ramsdale then, he should face the same scrutiny but I doubt he will - Richie has probably done him a favour.

Well, I would say Ramsdale won the game so he's entitled to dish a bit back to the fans who've been giving him stick. It's him on the wind up and really if you're an adult fan in the crowd who can't control themselves because a player has kissed the badge in front of you then you probably need sectioning. Richarlison was thin skinned and raised his hands after taking the bait. To be honest, I'd see him banned as I don't like him and it would be funny, but it's not like I think he should be. It's the derby and people doing that sort of stuff is what makes it entertaining.

Really the only bad thing was that kid swinging a kick and he'll probably get banged up for it. I never buy the player incitement thing. If you blow your lid at a football player like that then learn to handle your pop/chop. The rest is great.

General agree with your sentiment - however lets not suggest people should be getting sectioned, there is no mental health issue here and it shouldn’t be a term used to describe idiots at football grounds.

Also, the lad isnt getting locked up - its a Common Assault at most and there will be no complaint from Ramsdale I’d wager - the club will dish out the punishment and Police raise a crime and football banning order no doubt.

Actually Ramsdale has commented on it, saying something akin to "the fans were giving me stick, I gave it back, some took it in good humour"

Football fans need to grow the fuck up, why shouldn't a player be able to give some abuse (not physical)/banter back when they're having shit thrown at them a game?

I meant the Richarlison part of it, 100% Ramsdale shouldn’t be getting kicked by a fan etc and what he said is fair game.

It's almost like there are massive double standards in football and the same Richarlison who took the piss out of Forest in a win early in the season with a bit of ball juggling can't handle it when the other way round.

For what it's worth I'm fine with both examples, some football fans are just pathetic massive childish twats that are looking to kick off for the slightest thing. They are usually the same ones who arrive 10m late to the ground whilst kissing the badge and bugger off early at halftime for a beer.

Not that arsed about summer plans at the mo, but he would be a tremendous signing if we could pull it off. Physically fantastic, and technically good enough that I think Arteta could turn him into a hell of a player.

Probably needs Chelsea to not get top 4 to have a chance, because that dipshit Yank will inevitably offer him a 10 year contract on 300k a week.

I get the impression the club are a bit cross it got out, presumably by someone wanting to stoke up a bigger market. Feels like a million years away though when you look at what needs to be achieved in the next fortnight but he would be an unreal signing.

I was reading an interesting thing about how Chelsea's approach is a classic private equity tactic of buying up endless assets you can later leverage and never selling low. I do wonder if the theory may make an unpleasant meeting with cold reality at some point when the asset in question is an actual human football player who's seventh in the pecking order to play left wingback for Graham Potter's Entertainers. Top four seems like an absolute fantasy for them this season.

They won't be the first wedged up idiots to enter a football club thinking their master of the universe massive intellects and wallets will take over the game, to discover it doesn't always work how you want.

Met police say a 35y old been charged with assaulting an Arsenal player from Sunday, guess that rules out Romero.

Yeah at first I thought it was PR from the club to soften fans up for zero January signings, but on closer inspection it does seem like it came from Rice's camp and the club are irked about it being so public.

Trossard isn't going to excite many but he's a solid enough squad player with proven PL attributes - not a bad goals per minute return either and that was under Potter who seems to have sucked the goals out of Chelsea as well as Brighton.

Attitude possibly an issue as part of the issues with Belgium apparently, and clearly had a bust up with Brighton.

Also Brighton hold a 12m option in addition to 5m left on his contract, so whilst the bust up doesn't strengthen their hand they don't let them go cheap do they ?

£10m you'd think worth a punt, as that is the loan fee for Felix, £20m and on the fence a bit.

They've already rejected £12m from Spurs so you'd assume it's going to take north of £20m. Feels like a throwback to mistakes of the past to me, solid enough player with no resale value on his last payday. Wonder if this is just some chaff though and they're after someone else. I sort of hope we are to be honest.

We badly need someone to add depth across the front line and he does fit the bill there, and Trossard should be able to come in and do that job immediately (which you have to think Mudryk probably wouldn't have been able to do for a while, coming from not even playing in the Ukrainian league).

If we can't get an elite level project winger in January now, this does make sense as long as he's not much more than £15m and it doesn't preclude us from signing a better winger in the summer.

that seems a lot, but transfermrkt had him listed at €30m back in Nov, he has more goals in the PL than anybody at Arsenal this season and if we push on to a good CL spot it's worth it.

always seems to be a sellers market unless we're selling.

I’m pretty happy about Trossard; PL experience, adds the depth across the front line that we’ve been crying out for, used to pressing, good at finishing with both feet, and so on. Mudryk would’ve been a shinier new toy, but would’ve cost 3-4 times as much, and if anything Trossard is more likely to be able to contribute almost immediately.

We could probably do with further reinforcements (now, I mean, though I’ll also add here that I’ll believe Rice is coming when he’s officially announced, and not before), but this definitely feels like a step in the right direction.
