I think the reason that some people are annoyed is that there has been no tangible improvement since last season. We can say that we got to a cup final, but when you get down to the brass tacks, our record this season will still show that we've won nothing and only really cup close in a cup that the other top teams weren't all that bothered about. If we finish second that will be our best finish for six years, and I think it's telling that at this point that we're more worried about the teams behind us than of having any realistic hope of catching a Man Utd team that seem destined to win the division one way or the other.

For the record I don't think Wenger will or should go. He's earned the right to leave on his own terms and we'll just have to wait until he does I suppose. His biggest mistake was putting too much faith in players who didn't warrant that kind of trust. It's one thing to be a shit footballer, but another to turn in gutless, lazzaire faire performances that let down a good guy who gave you an amazing chance.

I totally agree, he deserves better and I bet he walks round shaking his head and feeling a bit ill most of the time. He's a trooper I suppose, a very strong man. But he made a rod for his own back in a way, they've needed a bollocking not a silent contemplative moment and on to the next game. I don't think he deserves to just carry on and leave when he fancies it though. That's not to say that I want him out but the Club needs to have a bit more urgency and demand success. We are the Arsenal. Accepting a top four finish as a great perennial return is a bit lame.

I think that Arsene has been genuinely building up to something that he believed in and it still might happen. He has basically copied the Barcelona format from the late 90's (where they didn't win a lot for a period of time either). With the way football was and is going, maybe he felt this was the most sensible way forward for us and looking at some of the clubs around us, I find it difficult to argue against him.

I have seen an improvement over last season, especially in players like Nasri, Chesney and Wilshere who will be key for us next season. Not a major one and overall maybe it seems as though we have chocked again, but to be fair, we have been drawn against the best team in Europe and the best team in England in both of the major cup competitions. The odds were stacked against us and realistically did anyone see us progressing in either competition when the draws were made?

As for some of the players. If you aren't good enough you aren't good enough but I also think that confidence has something to do with it. Denilson for example has looked like a rabbit looking into car headlights a lot of the time this season. He is completely shot and maybe even knows that he is punching above his weight. You can't blame him for being picked. Arsene's real problem is that these players now are one's that have grown up with him from when they were kids. He has invested a lot of blood, sweat and probably love as well and it must be really hard to let go and just discard them. For some of them he needs to put sentiment aside now though.

The real crux with the fans is that I am one of those who thinks that a top four finish is a good return in the current footballing climate as opposed to the one's demanding success. Even if we spent the money we have we still couldn't compete financially with Man City, Chelsea or even ManU really. I want us to win things and be successful but feel that it is completely unrealistic to expect or demand it. I've never seen Arsenal as a club who should demand success anyway. It comes and goes and we have our moments in the Sun but we aren't and never have been in that tier where winning and losing a title means the managers head or not.

Assuming I'm talking out of my arse I don't see how booing and not attending games is going to help the club in the long run anyway. That's the sort of shit that should be reserved for Spuds and Chels.

I think people are just frustrated at what I think could rightly be said to be a lack of attitude or conviction or enthusiasm or all of them. There is no doubt that we are a great footballing team. We probably have the best overall technique of any team in the world except Barcelona. That's the problem though. We've had 4-5 seasons of rebuilding since the Invincibles, and every now and again there have been flashes of brilliance that make you think we might be able to do something, but inevitably we get injuries to key players and our season peters out. It's happened every March for years now. In a bunch of competitions, then out of them.

This season I honestly thought we were seeing those flashes more and more. When we beat Chelsea 3-1 I was stunned, because for the first time in a long time we genuinely looked like a team that could not only murderise any other team to death, but believed they could as well. That was easily the best Arsenal performance I've seen for god knows how long, and I think it's the fact that we all know we can do it that pisses people off when we draw 0-0 with Blackburn. That just should not be happening. We should be destroying them. Every Arsenal supporter knows we can. I don't buy in to this whole 'the PL is much better' having an effect. It very well may be a stronger league, but we are still far superior to 90% of the teams in it.

Sometimes.

And that's the problem. I honestly don't mind not winning things if we were to actually put up a fight. But it just never seems to happen. We know what this team is capable of when it wants to be. But sometimes it just seems that it doesn't want to. And it's fucking frustrating.

Cheer up guys, at least we've got Real Madrid to cheer on.

Also, two good posts up there guys.

We know what this team is capable of when it wants to be. But sometimes it just seems that it doesn't want to. And it's fucking frustrating.

I know it sounds daft but I always think of Oasis - 'You can have it all but how much do you want it?' - and like you, it frustrates me to my core. Vela being a great example, especially when compared to his compatriot Hernandez. Does he need it punching into him somehow? And as a whole, do they not look at Barca and the work ethic they have and the rewards it brings? It's not rocket science.

But.. We can still win the Prem.

I never really took to Adebayor even when things were going well for him in an Arsenal shirt. I'd be quite pleased if he scored against Spurs though. To be honest, I don't care who scores against them as long as they get thumped.

But...our current away kit is 'gold' and redcurrant. It'll just be that, surely.

But it's yellow? I think officially it was listed as mustard, in the PL handbook. Unless it's just a slightly more 'gold' version?

Just odd that the club mentioned it.

Have you also asked them if they're going to play like idle dipshits again?

I sent a snotty and rude email to the Club ages ago about us not buying players and got this..

Thank you for your email. Your message has been passed to the Chief

Executive's office for the Board.

Regards

Arsenal Football Club

Strangely I wasn't invited in to discuss it further.
