What Song Are You Listening To Right Now?™

Polysics! Massive DEVO rip-off merchents, but they're awesome fun live, so I'll let them off. The main singing chap obviously didn't speak a jot of English, but had some carefully rehearsed stock gig phrases to shout at the crowd, which just made them more endearing.

The girl in this video sure can move.

I used to have such a thing for that video. Watching it again now, I guess I still do. <3 She's amazing.

It's never a good sign when I visit the Tiny Goat.

Still, I find this song to be catchy as all hell though. Amazing little melody.

Can I be controversial and say that The Gothic Archies are as good as, if not better, than The Magnetic Fields? I love 'Tiny Goat'. I always wish I wrote that song. It's so ridiculously simple.

This is probably their finest hour (2 minutes and 47 seconds)...

"When I was young my study was candies

But they attract tarantulas and bees"

My housemates band did a cover of it for a Halloween Covers Party bash....which was nice.

I can't help thinking this is one of the greatest songs of all time. Most people think it's really cheesy and naff, but it's really beautiful!

The first number one in the UK without lyrics, I believe. </pub quiz>

O how i love this song *sniffle*

I'm a huge Billy Bragg fan. He's great live and he's a really, really nice bloke.

Edit: just found his performance on the Letterman show, which was originally removed from YouTube, presumably for stupid copyright reasons, as if anyone cares:

'As Rushdie proves you have to be very careful, those who burn books will later burn people"

I'll happily agree to 'as good as' :). I feel my knees wanting to jerk a little bit at the notion 'better' though.

Just had a shower and listened to a Vetiver shuffle. Andy Cabic's voice is one of only a handful that I feel I can match pretty well. I love singing along to his songs, even I perhaps get a little too into them.

My insane best friend turned me on to Your Hand In Mine a few months ago. She just tossed me a zipped folder one day and it had a bunch of nice stuff in it by the band such as the above. I really need to get around to finding out who they are and what else they have that I can buy. A very cursory google just now indicates that they're Myspacey and Greek. :)

Telstar's one of my favourite songs, ever. I managed to find Radio Nottingham's copy in their library and made them play it for the fist time in years and years. Felt like I'd done a little public service.

Anyhoo, today I am listening to John Ottway.

Cor, baby.

Ahhh, I overplayed that track. Now it's borderline annoying.

Sort of goes in the same camp as Supergrass's Alright, Blur's Parklife, Cornershop's Brimful.., etc.

EDIT: Would be ride not to post up what I'm listening to. Which is: JSBX's Now I Got Worry.

As much as I overplayed Wail, it never came close to belonging in the camp mentioned above.

Also, check this out. Amazing.

Russell Simins is a true hero. :)

Thank you Toby Amies. I'm as grateful as can be.
