Only discovered her recently but i'm already a big fan, the new album is fantastic.

This track is bloody fantastic, and a throw away from the new album. She considered it not good enough. Very much in the vein of her Visions album.

She did re-record it for Art Angels after it became popular in the build up to the albums release, but its only available on the digital/CD versions, and not the vinyl. This "demo" version is also on the digital versions. Didn't like the re-recorded version as much as this original one, this works better with less vocal layers.

Art Angels is my go-to album at the moment. Its even better on headphones. She has become a good producer in her years between Visions and this.

I like this, owes a huge debt to James Blake in places though. But more pop.

I listened to the Beatles 'In My Life' today after several days of occasionally thinking 'you know, I could really do with listening to In My Life'. I haven't had the urge to properly listen to any Beatles tracks in many many years.

Anyway, I got my fix. I still find it beautiful and a bit heart wrenching. But fuck me - that harpsichord solo section. How completely unnecessary. It's like they thought 'hmm nice song, but it needs..some kind of baroque flourish to round it off'. No.

I might root out my Beatles Anthology tapes and check if there's a version without that stupid fucking harpsichord bit.

Yeah that's always taken me out of the song. If I remember correctly George Martin hastily tacked it on to fill it out. Not one of his best moments.

Found out about it on here. Thanks Rllmuk!

It's an excellent album. If you like that, I recommend other synth stuff from the likes of Lazerhawk and Carpenter Brut. Lazerhawk's "Visitors" album has a Carpenter-esque feel to it.

And Carpenter Brut are just on a whole other level.
