Currently stuck on the Mouse vs. Man and Police vs. Robotic Horde levels (they're really bloody hard) on insane and decided to go back to easy to see how easy it really is and bugger me is it hard to do, the circles get small sooo slowly it's unbelievable.

I'm a bit confused. I'm on the diarrhea level, and some of the notes have a pulsing circle instead of the standard shrinking one. I get it when it's laid out like this:

(1) (4)

It means tap note '1' three times and then tap '4', I think. But sometimes there's just a single note with a pulsing circle labelled '1' and no matter what I do, I can't seem to hit it. What do those ones mean?

ok i was in Smiths today and opened up Stuff magazine. They had a section on handheld game and it mentioned and english version for Ouendan. i think it was called Beat Team or something. Is this an english version or a complete rip off?

Ah, it's called 'Elite Beat Agents' how comes i havn't heard of this?

elmo, they are doing a kind of 'sequel' (different scenarios, characters and music) called 'Elite Beat Agents'.

US release date is November 6th. Really looking forward to it.

Making my way through hard mode now. Some of the songs I can nail on the first try (like the ghost story) and some of them I have to replay 10 or 15 times (e.g. the train ride). I guess some rythms just click with me and some don't. Weird.

Edit: Ha! Just got my first S rank for ghost story on Hard ;)

Yea that's the one.

The difficulty really is all over the place though. Over the distance is so easy and the next one (cops vs. giant robots) is hard as fuck. I can combo the first three episodes without missing a beat and still only have about 25% energy left going into the final chapter. How annoying :lol:

Edit: Haha, 5 minutes later and I've cracked it^^ I think I'm in love with this game!

Edit: 15 minutes later - Hard mode is mine :( Next up: insane mode :(

After a two-week love affair, i'm finally starting to crack. I don't think i'll ever be able to complete RSG on Normal - let alone on Hard and Insane modes. It's got to the pooint where i wasn't missing a single note (i died with a 227 Combo) but it's now a case of hitting only 300's to progress. I tried for over 2 hours last night and i got as far as the 3 spinners, and no further.

I thought i would have a 'rest', so i went on to 'Over The Distance', to get my first S rank, and for a further two hours, failed to do even that. (I got as good as 117 300's, and 4 100's = NOT EVEN CLOSE TO AN S RANK).

So i went to bed in a bad mood. :(

Please tell me that you guys went through the same thing i'm going through now. Please. PLEASE. :D:(

Oh yes.

I got into an even badder mood when I went back to Insane mode after a few weeks' break and couldn't do it anymore. Drove me up the wall. Every attempt got worse and worse as I just got more and more annoyed at not being able to do it anymore.

Take a rest and come back to it refreshed. Finishing Normal mode is quite a hurdle, but it's joyous from then on.

This games fucking broken, man. I'm trying to S Rank everything I was playing the Dodgeball level on Hard and got an "A" Highscore with 23 100's, the rest being 300's. A bit dissapointed I started it again and got 22 100's 1 50 and a fucking S Rank with no high score!!!! How the fuck does that work!?!?!?!!

Stick with it - I had exactly the same thing! Don't worry, you'll beat it eventually :-)

As for on Hard though, I'm having enough trouble reaching as far as RSG :-( Mind you, started playing again this morning after a break of about 2 months and completed 2 songs within about 30 mins :-) slowly but surely I will beat this - just in time for Elite Beat Agents hopefully :-)

The reason you got the S the second time is cos you probably slipped off a 'line' thing at one point of the song, and reset your multiplier, hence the low score.

They really weren't that far apart in score, both at the 2,500,000 mark. I'll just chalk it up to experience.

I just completed RSG on Normal, it was real tough and punished very severely for even the slightest cockup. So I've been put off even attempting to progress in the hard difficulty -- I tried one song in hard, and the gaps between numbers no longer seem to reflect timing meaning having to learn the song (I guess).

I just can't dedicate that amount of effort.
