Get with it! Dicaprio was Steve in Code Veronica.

Actually, you're right. I knew he was in there somewhere. Some of those computer models do have generic similarities though...

I knew I'd seen him in CV and then I started trying to remember if Leon was in that, doh! Please tell me it was Resi 2 I last saw Leon in. The whole chronology is a big jumbled mess in my head, not surprisingly.

Aye, RE2 was Leon's big opener.

And who said Steve? He's dead, man. Dead!

I still think that it is Chris which means Wesker might make an appearance.  Apologies for the Dead Aim/Resident Evil 0 mix-up.

Yeah well I reckon that it is Wesker. He's had to dye his hair and go into hiding after the US government keep trying to take him out. Obviously he's on a mission to take out the man in the goverment who wants rid of him. He unleashes one of the many virus' that he's been collecting (remember he has one of everything now) to try and kill him but he gets caught up in it too. So he has to find the guy, kill him and then have a threesome with Jill and Claire.

I thought the storyline was likely to at least partially relate to the ganados/ virus thing from 4... after all Ada escapes from the island with the sample, doesn't she? and we don't know who she is working for do we?

I'm crap at remembering details of what goes on in game storylines. I watch the cutscenes on my first playthrough but always skip them after that.

And wasn't there something dodgy involving Wesker, or hinting at Wesker's involvement as well? I hope he comes back... or did he die in CV? I remember him turning into a monster or something.

Ada is working for Wesker. Wesker is probobly trying to set up a new bio-weapons company, which would just be Umbrella in a new guise.

I hope Resi 5 is based in a city or at least has some urban sections. I'd love a Resi game where your a member of the RPD or Umbrella commando people trapped in Racoon city trying to survive (like in the opening to Resi 3 and certain parts in the second movie). An online Resi in that style with Resi 4's engine would be perfection.

Imagine standing back to back with 3 other players while a massive horde of zombies is closing in on you all, kneecapping some to slow the tide, shooting any that get too close in the head, one of your teamates runs out of ammo and makes a suicide run into the horde with their knife.

I really hope Capcom have another shot at an online Resi on the 360 would make my fucking day.

I'm not interested in playing games online, but you guys have a ball.

In fact, I'm not sure RE gameplay is even remotely suited to multiplayer. The isolation you feel as you explore on your own is part of the appeal.

I agree.

Perhaps Resi would be more suited to multplayer than it was before - since the engine and genre have changed to action adventure (Capcom's def.).

Personally I would love Resi 4's Mercs to be mulitplayer...!  :)

I'd still be dubious about that. Wouldn't you just get one player to draw them away, and the other to pick them off? Or one player to get the time extends, the other to do the killing? You'd really have to tweak the rules, and then - well, it wouldn't be Mercs, would it?

Hopefully that's what Outbreak will turn into. They've gotta use their brains and do it on Live though. None of this Playstation Online bollocks.

It'd be brilliant. Kind of like Dead Rising with the hundreds of characters coming at ya but with the team play of PSO. Well maybe not the team play of PSO that consisted of getting all the boxes while your team mates died.

The idea of an online resi really is good, but more a collection of hulh esque characters.

The characters don't upgrade, or level up on Outbreak do they?

As for the idea of it not being on a Nintendo console, I am very sad if this happens.

Resident Evil 4 really made me feel like The Resident evil games were part of Nintendo.

I think Resi 4's engine could transition perfectly into an online game. Perhaps not into a full game world with puzzles and exploring etc but maybe just different seige scenarios.

Imagine a seige like the one with Luis in 4 only in a much bigger house. The level starts an you have a few seconds (this could alter on different difficulty settings) before the first ganados/zombies start breaking through so its a mad dash to board up as many entrances as possible.

Then when they finally break through each player would have to keep an eye on different entrances to make sure none break through, then 2 players may have to make a mad dash up stairs to push some ladders down and stop them from climbing through the windows. Then close to the end of the seige chainsaw guys, blind men, regenerators etc could be thrown into the mix.

Each player could have different weapons and amounts of ammo grenades healing items etc and would have to work together to stay alive.

Each level could be a different seige in a different setting, one set in a large house/barn type building, one set in a urban area surrounded by overturned trucks an cars on fire etc etc.

Im sure Capcom would be able to pull off an enjoyable multiplayer Resi in this fashion and I'd love to play an online game similar to this.
