Hmmmm. Through VGA the tearing is pretty bad. Also, why do you have to press A to equip something from the "quick select" menu? Seems a bit silly if you're going in there to select a different weapon that it doesn't select it automatically. But yeah, from my short play (which I died and I'm supposed to be working anyway) it's RE4 with co-op knobs on. Not that that's a bad thing.

Wow, 472.65mb is quite small for a 360 demo.

Thats what she said.

In all seriousness, i'm not a fan of the forced co-op. For me it is that simple frustration factor of death due to AI. It bains me more than a cheese grater to to the groin.

Have been playing RE4 on the PC. What a joke the port is terrible. But 2 gigs of patches and its not half bad.

I must say that the idea of the co-op in a game like RE5 is a brilliant idea. Two people fighiting for survival, sharing herbs, distracting enemies, living the tension at the same time. Searching areas for the most obscure clues or stopping a while for a breath to admire the graphics, well, it's going to be amazing. It has the potential to be the best co-op ever.

If...

They have designed the game like this. If they have just thrown a bunch of co-op events it will be shit.

But I believe in Capcom.

QFT.

I'm currently playing through Resi 4 Wii edition for the umpteenth time, and the way they balanced the gameplay in the bits where you have to escort and protect Ashley is nothing short of miraculous. If anyone can pull off perfectly judged co-op, it's Capcom.

More importantly, I think it's possible that Sheva is an even more smokin' hot babe than Isabella out of Dead Rising.

I worry because Mikami's no longer involved, and they've dropped the ball before (Code Veronica), but on the other hand, they've spent a lot of time on this. Please be good...

 Thought that was one of the better Resi, to be honest. 0 on the other hand....

Wow. RE4 is one of my favourite games, but I really felt as if I was wrestling the controls and pissing around with my 'partner'. I've got a rather bad feeling about this. Really didn't enjoy playing those two sections - the interface and controls were demanding all of my attention, which is not a good sign.

Please don't say they've screwed the pooch on this one.

What 2gb patches for the PC RE4? Do the patches just the replace the entire game with the GC version and a PC emulator for it?!

Capcom better not bugger up the sniper rifle reload animations, they've got a tough act to follow with the RE4 ones. And goodness, please no sliding block puzzles.

I loved the locales and music, but I thought the character switching was broken, you took damage from unavoidable enemies and, and some of the puzzles were terrible.

I didn't even finish RE0 :)

The control does feel really, really archaic. It looks great (apart from the screen tearing!) but otherwise...hmmmmm.

It just doesn't suit the pace - you really need to be able to move and shoot. Dead Space has basically shot down (no pun) the theory of needing the mechanic to increase tension.

I think Dead Space got the controls very right, and that's what I was expecting from this. I think the inability to move and shoot is going to piss me off now, whereas I was quite forgiving of it in RE4.

Also, the co-op...well...if you have to keep picking her up every 2 minutes that's gonna get pretty tedious. I'm deffo going to give it more time and hope I'm wrong in my initial worries of the game.
