Arrested Development Topic In Cold Brown Taste!

Good to know that the show lives on with new people discovering it. I've been re-watching the first two seasons over the past few weeks, and it's probably the most consistent sitcom I've ever had the pleasure of watching. So many stand out moments, many of them subtle touches that you might miss the first time you see the episodes.

As for the third season, it was only 13 episodes long. The DVDs are due out in the US at the end of the month.

It's an intriguing, quirky, off-beat show... and I love every minute. Probably its greatest asset is the way storylines continue and really do have consequences - Buster's hand being bitten off, for example.

I think my favourite "hidden" bit was George Senior being pulled out of a hole in the ground - a subtle reference to Saddam, complete with the unkempt beard.

Subtle? It was about as subtle as the episode with the Saddam look a likes all living in a replica house.

"You'll take it the way I make it" :(

I can't even begin to sum up how amazing I think this show is, anyone who hasn't seen it is missing out. Anyone who has and doesn't like it is a Mr. F.

Just got my set of season 3. It is obvious they have been done on the cheap, but to be expected really. The packaging is cheaper than the other sets and the extras are extremely thin. There is the standard outtakes and bloopers as well as one documentary. It is covering the last day of filming and lasts about 5 minutes, and only has an interview with 2 cast members. Finally there are 4 commentaries, which manage to have the majority of the cast back together for a reunion. Shame it didn't get the attention spent on it that it deserved. I really wanted a Franklin of my very own. Of course everyone should still buy it regardless.

I think it was bleeped on television as far as I know. One notable exception was on episode 2 when Gob got blackballed from the childrens party and the kid says "Fuck you, traitor". That snuck through for some reason.

The full-length pilot on S1 is also unbleeped.

George Michael sayse so Maebe (sic) "I just don't want to see you get fucked by some guy..." at some point. I prefer the bleeping for humourous reaons though.

No, he says 'plucked' at leasty thats what he says in the episode 'Spring Breakout', might have come up elsewhere. Busters bleeped swaering the second episode is awesome! "Hi i'm, mom bleep bleep bleep..."

One of the great things about the show is how the characters grow on you. I hated Tobias for the first few episodes but by the end of season one he was probably my second favourite after Gob. I watched the Blind Justice episode again today - awesome.

The first series has started on Bravo by the way. I seriously emplore everyone who hasn't to watch it. Having said that, there is probably no-one in this thread that hasn't so I'm talking to myself really aren't I?

I originally watched the first episode back when it aired on BBC2, thought it was fantastic, but then managed to miss the next few episodes and let it all slip by, so I've taken the opportunity to pick up where I left off on Bravo.

Lovin' it!

The Cornballer had me in stitches. :P

I must have seen every episode of seasons 1 and 2 at least 5 times each now, but I still can't get bored of it. I honestly think that it's the greatest sitcom of all time - in fact, probably my favourite television show of all time. I feel some loyality towards my old loves like The Office, Porridge, Seinfeld etc, but I can't deny it any longer. Even stuff that should grate - the music and hand-holding through certain issues just feels like essential parts of the show.

I've watched countless shows to the very end and felt disatisfied, anger, joy and all these things about the way they were handled. I've missed show's characters quite a lot, but I've never been upset like I was with AD. Sailing off into the sunset like that, managing to claw out such a great ending in the face of network and fan pressure - what an effort. And the sad thing is that when watching season 1, it already feels old :)

I REALLY want somebody to write a simple coffee-table guidebook with info on all the references and stuff like that.
