Who Is Buying A Psp

Just asking, who here is buying a PSP tomorrow night/Thursday, where are you getting it, and what are you getting with it?

Personally I'm buying my PSP and Wipeout Pure from Gamestation at the midnight launch for £199.99. I'm also going to get Lumines with it, and if I have the cash, Darkstalkers. I've already bought a Logitech Playgear Pocket hardcase for it, as I was worried places might sell out of some accessories, and it seems like the best case.

Feel free to post if you already have one and have something to say, but try not to just post "I already have mine from the jap launch, I'm 1337er like that"; I've had enough of gaming snobbery from the other thread ;)

I'm also getting one from gamestation with Ridge Racers and Everybody's Golf but I don't know what the total price will be. Somewhere in the region of £230 - 250 I suppose. If they have hard cases I'll consider one but that Logitech one looks superb.

It'll be £230 with those 2 games. GS have an offer on for £230 with any 2 games. It's also 200 with the machine and a copy of one of RR, Medievil or Pure. Basically you don't save much in the 2 game offer, unless you want 2 games and neither of them are of those three.

While I'm at it, for £209.99 you get the machine, a game, and a £15 accessory pack that comes with UMD cases, screen defenders, and a few other bits and bobs.

I'm torn about getting one. I don't really know what to do. The PSP Value Pack is €270, but Game Stop are doing a bundle with PSP Value Pack, any game (which all seem to cost €45) and their own accessory pack for €299. But I'm also thinking of waiting a while. It would probably be the better option.

Of the launch games I'd can recommend through experience; Everybodys Golf, Lumines and Wipeout. Especially Everybodys Golf - I haven't read a book in six weeks... Can't. Stop. Playing. It!

I have one of those aluminum hard cases (bought for me as a present from my Mum of all people) but haven't once used it out. It's too precious looking. The sleeve thing you get with it is absolutely fine.

I got one at Jap launch with Lumines and Ridge. Which I sold soon after.

I regretted it and bought one at US launch. I now have Ridge, Hotshots, Lumines, Puzzle Bobble and just got Virtua Tennis.

I am a bit jealous of you lot getting one for the first time.

It must be dead exciting and no I am not taking the piss.

I reckon I'll get one of these:

It's polycarbonate plastic (which is pretty tough) and more importantly has the right holes for headphones and trigger buttons so I don't need to take it out of the case whenever I use it (I use mine as an MP3 player a lot)

.::: No, no, no. The best part about it, is being able to skin it.

I promised myself I would wait a while before picking up a PSP, I really haven't got any spare money at the moment either but as the day draws nearer I find I have an uncontrollable urge to sell a shed load of games so I can buy one. :(

In Woolies today I noticed that with the purchase of any PSP game (not console) you could buy a half-price 512Mb Sandisk memory card. That made the memory card £29.99 which I think is pretty good.

I feel one of these cards is almost vital to get the best out of your new console.

I've had one since the usa launch and would heartily endorse wipeout pure, lumines(best puzzle game ever) and hotshots golf.Although I have most of the available psp game to date those are my top 3.

Wipeout pure is utter class and works superbly on the psp.

Ridge aint bad either.

I'll be rolling up tomorrow morning to pick up my pre-order, which will then save me a few dollars across games and accessories. I'm certainly getting Pure, Ridge & Lumines - then will have a look at a few others, incl: Mercury and TOCA (Supercars).

I just hope I get a unit with no pixel/button problems etc. - I'd hate that.
