Who Is Buying A Psp

Due to the fact that i'm stuck in london on a training course I've just gone out to MVC (Kings Street near London Bridge) and bought Toca along with Hellboy. At least tonight won't be quite so boring in the hotel.

They'd sold out of their consoles, but it's only a small store.

Cheers for confirming the films worked on JAP consoles though.

EDIT: Did anyone spot Virtua Tennis, wasn't to be found where i went!?

I was dead set against buying one at launch, was planning to wait for a price drop. Got to work, fella there reading the paper with all the launch day deals in it - off to my local Dixons and am now £250 worse off, damn you Sony!  :(

My PSP+WipEout Pure arrived at 11:30 this morning. Cost me a bargin bin price of twelve pounds :D

I love it when a plan comes together

I didn't particularly fancy one. Handheld gaming isn't my thing, you see. But seeing one of these on demo in Game... well, I'm very tempted indeed. That screen! It's just so incredibly lush. And perversely, the screen is bigger than I expected, yet the whole unit itself is much smaller.

£180 is a bit rich for me though.

I think. *Bites nails*

What I'm finding is I increasingly like the idea of just playing a handheld whilst my girlfriend watches telly or whatever. I've never been sold on handhelds before but I don't really get the time to devote to my consoles that I used to have. I just can't decide which one to get.

The same thing happend to me at lunchtime. I had a wander down Oxford Street and popped into HMV out of curiosity (to see if they had indeed sold out).

I'd seen them before several times but the fact that I could buy one there and then...They had a display model showing Spiderman 2, it very nearly sucked me in. The mind says no but the heart is shouting yes. I think I could happily buy one and put it on the mantlepiece...

Heh, that's why I went in. It looked like they were only fulfilling pre-orders, and didn't have anything left over for impulse purchasers like me, fortunately. The manager behind the counter was bollocking his staff for not filling out a waiting list sheet/form thing for customers who wanted a PSP. "I've been away 36 hours, and I can still remember! So you lot bloody well should!"

And yes, on my mantle piece it could most definitely go. If PRo Evo PSP comes out some time soon, I may just cave in.

I picked up one at lunchtime with Wipeout and Lumines. I didn't have any problem getting one, but it did look like stock was going down somewhat. They could sell out when all the kids, possibly with parents in tow, get out of school.

I've barely had the chance to have a proper look yet, but at least there doesn't appear to be a single dead pixel on the screen, which is nice. Also nice is the opening FMV to Wipeout.

I fancied a DS for all of its pick up and play, 2 minute games that it has, so I could just flip the DS open during adverts, and close it again when the programme started again.

If I was to get a handheld though, a PSP is looking the more likely option.

I was dead againt the PSP and wanted to see it fail against the DS.....but the lure of the forum got me interested. Found myself at currys at 9am and the machine hasnt been off since. So much fun playing ridge racer and everybodys golf. Also more fun playing mp3's and transfering porn (wank in comfort tonight !). Sony .... you bastards !

I just went into my local Game, and Gamestation, and it was just full of parents, which has put me off getting one  for now.

They ask the most stupid questions, and except the most stupid of comments. A mother was asking what to get with the psp for her child* ,and was told a few games, and THE TRANSFORMERS MOVIE??? I thought it would be best to get him a gory film so at least when he goes crazy and kills them, then goes on holiday with his unsuspecting

girlfriend, he will do it right

*spoiled brat

Anyone found any dead pixels on there uk psp yet?  Whats sonys policy over here then, i take it game shops aren`t gonna be taking them back over dead pixels like nintendo did?

I have a stinking black pixel cluster dead in the centre of the screen - bought the unit from game.uk.com. I'll try taking it into the shop tomorrow, but if they refuse to take it back/exchange I'll get a refund under the terms of the Distance Selling Act. Hurrah.

Mine has zero, I spent some time looking earlier on on white and black screens in pure, as well as in-game, and i've yet to see one.

Congratulations. Anyone wanting the PSP to fail is a sad individual. It's a wonderful little machine that is only starting to show it's potential. Powerful, sleek and beautiful. I can't see why anyone wouldn't like it or why it should fail.
