if it's anything like the PES5 demo, the players make the ones in PES4 seem uber-responsive. so maybe it's not an issue with the PSP version I mean.

Well I am no pro evo expert, only bothered with 1 to 4, never any of the foreign itterations. But its certainly a lot better than pro evo 4, which almost caused me to give up on the series forever.

The players seem to respond well, and no longer go through painful prolonged stumble animatiuons, or embark on lots of fruitless runs that only super cancel can halt.

My only complaint is the PSP can get uncomfortable to hold after pro longed use of having to reach all the buttons. Its hardly an ergonomic masterpiece though.

I see what you are saying, but you can actually just dump your UMD onto the mem stick, so its not really a pirate copy.

But yeah, ridiculous really.  Off mem stick its brilliant though.  No loading times of any note, plus you can clock it to 266mhz and get no slowdown at all.

None of this is possible on a 2.0 machine, right?

(Forgive my duncity but I am new to the world of the PSP).

I just scored my first goal!

David Beckham for Real Madrid against West Brom.  1 star difficulty level.  YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Back of the net! :(

I have played plenty of pro evos before and I only have it on 2 stars. some games can be a bit easy, but it allows me the chance to try new stuff, rsther than going all out for goals.

Currently one point behind league leaders Chelsea B)

two stars literally just lets you walk the ball through the entire team and poke it into the net 20 times per match though.

which is part of the reason three stars is so annoying (the AI is stupid but artificially hard to beat through stat-fiddling) - going down to two stars just isn't an option.

I started an italian league and put it down to one star after a couple of matches. Not that I was losing badly, I just need time to get used to the 'nub'.

It's hard to compete when I keep running into the opposition by mistake.

I'm getting better though, am on 2 stars now and will move back up to three in a few matches time as I get more and more settled with the controls.

I really dont find two stars THAT easy. My biggest win has been 5-0. But as I say, I dont play it for all out goals, I like to score beautiful goals B) Not been beaten yet mind you, just held to a couple of draws.

Once this league is finished though Im gonna move on to a 3 star league.

as long as you're holding L as you press pass the guy should run for the return ball*

you have full control over the first receiver, you don't need to pass straight away. watch the player's run and choose your pass from X, triangle, O or L+triangle when the time is right.

*for about 2 seconds, then he'll stop, even if he would be clean through if he kept going
